I played the hell out of the original game, and while this is quite different, there are things I like and things I don't, a few named here. Like: - Combat is smooth - Synergies and builds are just as chaotic and fun as in the original game - New boss and weapon designs are clean and really cool - Progression is as simple as it was in the original game Dislike: - Weapon buffing is weird and most weapons feel weak while others are incredibly powerful (it feels like an inverted bell curve in that it's hard to find weapons that are well balanced) - Enemy movement and attacking can be extremely unpredictable and hard to read (ex: the yellow flying enemies that appear in the first 1 or 2 levels don't seem to do contact damage but bite so quickly it might as well be changed to do contact damage instead) - Some bosses and enemies, for example the first "danger" level boss, as well as the jumping robot spiders on level 4 and 5, have attacks that are either completely unpredictable or really hard to see with the number of upgrades you get after reaching the level you would encounter them So in other words, while the game does have issues when it comes to balancing, I'm still having a great time with every run.

This is a good example of Early Access done right. It had a rough start, but with community feedback it has become so much better. I haven't tested the multiplayer, but everything else is really smooth so far. With the Archenemy Returns DLC, it feels like an upgraded version of the first game. I for one can't wait to see what else gets added.

Was hesitant to get this game cause of all the mixed reviews but as someone else stated this game does not deserve all the hate. It is phenomenal! I have been having some of the best coop fun ever with friends. It is clear these developers love their game as the quality in every aspect is super high. Things I love: - The Art Direction: Beautiful vibrant colours with gorgeous scenes, rooms and characters. - Music & audio: Holy jesus the music is stunning! The sound effects are crisp and clear with super juicy endorphin inducing pick-up sounds! - The bosses and their variety - Really fun knowing there is so many the game can choose to throw at you. - The playable characters: Each are beautifully designed and feel different from one another. - The items and Hatchmon: So many fun and quirky hatchmon and items. I loved playing each run not knowing what I am going to come across. - One thing I absolutely love and I know it wasn't easy to implement is the ability for each player to explore each room individually (yes you don't have to wait for other players to explore and fight in other rooms). - Performance has been rock solid for me personally. So I have to give props for that. - Customisation: There is so many hats, clothes and items to wear I love it! - Progression: There is so much to unlock that make runs more exciting and fun to play. From mini games to new room items and more. Overall its been a fantastic experience and definitely one of the best roguelites I have played. I really cant wait for whats to come. If anything I would love for a physical release for PS5 to add next to my Neon Abyss 1. Keep up the great work devs! <3

This game does not deserve the hate it gets rn. Mixed reviews is just insane. A very fun and chaotic roguelite, that is being heavily worked on with more old and new bosses being added left and right.

The game is VERY slowly getting there, it's good. that being said however steam needs a neutral recommendation since the game while it's good is still not there yet
