It's basically Neon Abyss 1 with more/new stuff and better pixel art. It's pretty fun just like its predecessor but i'm finding it extremely easy on Normal difficulty. I've done almost 10 runs and won all of them, i'm already done with a bunch of Managers and i've yet to fail one. The gameplay is identical to the first one, same for the builds which i think were probably the weakest part of the other game and are still the weakest part of this game. Yes you can get some cool synergies here and there but so far i've had the most success sticking to 1 gun and upgrading it non stop because you get to the point where it has so many passive damage perks on that it just melts everything, unless you find a weapon that deals much more damage. Don't go in expecting to get some insane combos like Isaac or Enter the gungeon. It can happen but it's much more rare.
Gameplay is like Contra, but with the map layout, mechanics, unlockables and roguelite variety you'd expect from Binding of Isaac. A must play for any roguelite fan. My first build I had was summoning flying swords that scaled the damage, range and summon count based on gold, and had an artifact that if you had < 100 gold you had less damage, and > 300 gold for bonus damage. So by the end it was like 12 swords every second. I think there's 50++ weapons in NA2 as well, so probably tons of cool builds to craft. Second build was a gun that shot several projectiles, all splitting at on-hit/end of range. I got several synergies to make it shoot about 50+ projectiles, all through walls. A fantastic sequel. Those who say this is worse than Neon Abyss 1 are off their rocker. I'll drop an easy 50-100+ hours in Neon Abyss 2. Edit: Almost 20 hours in now and I've almost crashed the game with an OP build that had about 5 attacks per second, shooting 30 projectiles per shot, each one spawning about 10x of their own projectiles, with lightning chain tethers between them all, and they all had homing with about 4x different types of spells to trigger on hit. Nearly crashing a game engine is usually the sign of a good roguelite to me LOL. Unironically wasn't even the most OP build I've played either, I deleted a 7th stage boss in about 3 seconds flat with a different build.
