I didn't know I needed this game up until I played this game. A game which is so f***ing well designed that you WANT to do better every time. Not because you need to, but because you want to. And the soundtrack is an absolute banger which perfectly blends with the gameplay. The only downside of this game is the cringy dialogs, but it's actually so cringy that it circles back to being ironically funny. So in fact, there's no downside. 10/10 I fully recommend even if you're not a speedrunning junkie. If you are, and you haven't played this game, what are you doing?
You call this story cringe, I say it has personality. I mean really, 0 leaning on the 4th wall, the characters are distinctive and fun like white trying to be suave and cool but no one buying it, the jokes progressibly get more sparce as the story continues so it gets more serious as it continues, the ending closes the story with a nice bow, and the final message is something I've legit haven't seen much of if any lately (writing this in 2026 btw). Why would anyone think this story is that ba- It has a minions reference... oh God. The gameplay is of course what most people know this for and yeah it's good, very fluid, very fast, encourage a TON of experimentation and since the levels are itty bitty if you're into chasing leaderboards this game was literally made for it but if you aren't then it's still easy to get into this since this game doesn't demand much of its players in order to complete it, it's a bunch of bite sized rushes of gameplay so you don't need to lose your head much over it. BUT I usually don't post reviews unless I've completed all the achievements and in that front this game asks for way too much, let's go down the list: -All ace medals for the levels. -All collectables on said levels wich are very well hidden. -All side missions wich are way harder than the normal levels. And... oh yeah, beating the entire game on a life bar (not a life, a life bar believe me you'll feel the difference)... TWICE once normally and another with just a bazooka wich makes 95% of levels an absolute joke and the other 5% absolute nightmares. I have 54 hours in game, 30 of those hours are just me trying to complete the level rushes that were just disturbingly sadistic. And on a final note I would have appreciated a Gabby relationship level like with the other characters, I would like to see more of these characters in general but as I said, the story was closed and was closed well so I'll take it.
