Lacks the sexy of senran kagura, lacks the rpg depth of neptunia. Giving good review because this might be the last senran kagura game.

ive played a fair amount of the senran games in my career history, and this one is by far my favorite. i like the neptunia girls significantly more, so thats probably why. I dont really care much at all for the senran side of the game, so im fairly ecstatic that the game forces you to play as the NEPTUNIA girls by default. Significantly better then the other senran games of the same era, even just from a game play standpoint and i can say that within my first hour that ive dumped into this. As always though when it comes to the senran games, the targeting system is completely abysmal, and one of the downsides to this game especially. The camera aswell due to the targeting described above can make it impossible to see or even dodge enemies attacks when they are on screen, and you just have to resort to button mashing, which, works fairly well all things considered and this game offers a new feature to the gameplay loop, where you can use a second character while playing through the game and "switch out' at will. When you switch out a character to your secondary of choice, they will passively regen HP while inactive. The other senran games have not had that feature, it was always one character only and thats that per mission. This game also has STATUS effects, such as poison, etc. that the other games did not have, opening up many new options and possibilities for customizing your character for your preferred playstyle. THE MAJOR DOWNSIDE = - = to this game is that their is no outfit or character customization!!! the main feature that all the senran games always had some of the best customization and outfit options of all time, has been completely scrapped?!?! it makes even less sense, when NEPTUNIA, has also offered A LOT of customization options on characters, even on their original games dumped out almost +~ 10 years ago, and yet the collab between the two features absolutely zero. Im completely care-free to any of the senran characters, however i love neptunia, and the neptunia girls outfits by default are fairly good enough that for me im okay with them as they are. Though, it still makes absolutely zero logical sense. Saying this as the gameplay of this game is much more enjoyable, and in depth, as you also have two totally different ability wheels to use during combat not featured in previous games, that it unfortunately lacks that much going back to previous titles that it makes up for the lack of customization, as much as i love me some new outfits and character customization.

Okay, this is the best Neptunia game ive ever played. Lets divide it from my personal opinions and thoughts : Storyline : good good. not bad. Graphic : much better for this series. Optimization : much better as well since the game now has uncap fps option. Gameplay : a good balance between normal gameplay and grind (you can still enjoy the storyline without excessive grinding too much to reach specific skills or items. plus you can also set the difficulties anytime you want. This is what ive expected more from Neptunia game. Not all people want to spend their time grinding something to enjoy the stories more and not all people have much time to do it) i think thats all from my POV. Hope to see more games like this in future.

Honestly a really solid hack n slash, I wish less of the reviews were only posted to complain about the lack of fanservice. NxS is rated T by the ESRB and lacks the partial nudity tag mainline M-rated Senran has, so it's to be expected (and would've been shown in the gameplay trailer if present) But anyways, I really like the game so far, even if the story is comedically weak. The combat takes a bit to get used to since there's plenty of anim locks, but as long as you remember to take advantage of the backdodge you get for interrupting your basic combo with your ranged attack and don't spam the ninja arts too hard, you'll be fine. I really like the spirit gem board, but I wish it opened up faster, so far I've just been dumping practically all of my money into the Money Up gems to be able to farm it for the more expensive gems later on easier

When it comes to the gameplay, I will say it's a fun little distraction of an action game. The combat was fairly fun and solid, the stage design was all unique and new (Neptunia is known for reusing stages) and I enjoyed it. However, if you play Neptune for the laughs, you're going to be disappointed, as the story is a complete snooze fest that doesn't do a good job at a crossover.
