I was so happy when I saw a new game for AI and still had the same characters from the previous game. However, the game felt like filler, and the timeline was confusing. The game starts with a sequence from the ending, then you'll play through flashbacks of how they ended up in that place. You play as Kaname, who witnessed Iris's abduction from.. UFO? Then he'll be able to contact her and help her through a series of puzzles to escape from room to room. They also introduced a new character on whom the game is heavily based on them. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3612152571 The main characters, along with the side characters, except for Iris, looked the same; she just changed her outfit, but everything else stayed the same. It felt more like fan service. The puzzles, however, were excellent and engaging. The game length is good, but I can't find myself replaying it for the missing achievements. More AI: Sonmaium Files, more Kaname Date, more everyone. It's pretty much just a fan service game for fans of the main games, but it's a good one in that regard. I really like the new characters too and hope to see more of them in future games.

9/10 enjoyment, 0/10 for the story. No Sleep gets the pass because I'm emotionally invested, but Spikechun is gonna pull a star wars disney fumble if the next entry isn't any better than this.

Bear in mind this game WAS marketed as a spin-off, it is NOT a proper sequel! The negative reviews I read for this game were kind of uncalled for. Overall the game is really good, of course not reaching the quality of the other two but the escape games are a nice twist (as someone who has not played Zero Escape yet). I am slowly reaching the last chapter and having lots of fun. Amazing game to play while waiting for the full sequel which I'm really hyped for!

Loving the Zero Escape references! iv'e missed that game alot. I'm really enjoying this game so far, if you haven't played the other AI: The Somnium Files games before then you don't need to worry about them for this one. Seek a way out and enjoy! ^^
