Great worldbuilding, intriguing story. Actually has an ending for once! Easily recommendable. Serious epilepsy warnings though, the games features long dream sequences with lots of flashing, jump cuts with extreme contrast and color changes, repeating patterns, and other forms of optical violence. Like most non stealth games with required stealth sections, they suck. At one point the hunter NPC would get stuck on level geometry and teleport forward on his path, breaking patrol cycles and requiring a restart. Also, for 2017, surprisingly demanding game. Beautiful don't get me wrong, it kinda makes me wonder what the hell we've been doing in the last 9 years. It seems locked to 60fps so I don't know how much headroom it had, but it would frequently go down to 40s, which would be mostly fine in a walking game like this but something really bad happens to the motion blur and other effects that just makes it nasty to look at. And in dream sequences it would make my desktop fan spin so hard I could have controlled it like a quadcopter.
What a masterpiece, old but gold frate. I love the story and the mystery hidden in the building, and that I can talk to a lot of tenants where everyone has unique personalities. The graphics and the atmosphere are wow, kinda logic since it's made by Bloober Team—they never release a bad game, their graphics always leave a good impression, and every time they release a game they evolve more and more. Anyway, the game is worth the money no doubt. But bro, I hate this one thing so much I don't even have words! Why do they put open doors, drawers, or lockers on the exact same mouse sensitivity? I need to set my in game sensitivity to 0 because in game sensibility is very fast and it still moves very fast. Okay i reduced my DPI from my software, but even if I reduce it, if I leave it on 0 in the game it's like 95% unplayable. I struggle just to open doors, drawers, etc. I move my mouse over and over just to open them a little bit to see if something is inside or to open a door. Why, Bloober? Why don't you put a separate sensitivity or a button that opens full doors, drawers, lockers? Why do you make the same mistake like other games, ex: Amnesia games or SOMA? Just say why, do every developer think it's ok to put sensitivity for things like this on the mouse sensitivity? Do you even test it with low DPI or sensitivity to see? Bruh something is wrong lets do something. And me, I need to play like this, struggling over and over until I finish the game. It's so frustrated because I can't enjoy the whole game when I focus on the story guess what open a door and stop the story and start a mouse marathon.
Very good and interesting story, Bloober team once againg made it great. Sound and video design are on top in my personal tear-list (it's pretty good, trust me). Some decisions I personally do not understand but they never came back to bite in the arse or ruin the experience.
