You Will Never Forget Niko. Never Honestly, I had been putting off playing OneShot for a long time — and now I truly regret that. This game turned out to be a real gem among indie titles, unique not only in its storytelling but also in its emotional impact. The story grabs you from the very first minutes. It’s slow-paced, philosophical, and incredibly human. The central themes — self-sacrifice, choice, and hope — aren’t delivered through heavy-handed exposition, but through a subtle, personal bond between the player and the main character. Niko is one of the most charming and touching characters I’ve ever encountered. Over the course of the game, you don’t just observe her journey — you care for her, empathize with her, and feel responsible for her. What struck me the most is that in Niko’s behavior, I saw an ordinary little child suddenly burdened with immense responsibility. That’s what makes the final choice so agonizing and unforgettable. The graphics are done in pixel art, but they never feel outdated. On the contrary, the visual style here isn’t just aesthetic — it’s a tool for conveying mood and meaning. The unique locations, small details, and character expressions all work together to create the atmosphere of a dying, yet still breathing world. The music is a story in itself. The soundtrack perfectly matches the narrative tone: melancholic, moving, and at times, quietly comforting. Some tracks were so piercingly beautiful that I immediately added them to my playlist — and I know they’ll stay with me for a long time. OneShot isn’t a game in the usual sense. It’s an experience. An emotional journey that requires your attention, your involvement, and an open heart. And I strongly recommend everyone to go through it at least once.

I may have only started this game because of Indie Cross, but man this was so peak. If I didn't play till 5 am, would have cried at the end. Nothing about the store page or indie cross could have prepared me for this experience. Highly recommend going in blind if possible.

I can't really review or describe this game. To describe or review a game like this feels, disingenious to the amount of work and passion that went into it, and I can't really describe this game without going into detail, either. What I will say is that this is a game that you need to play at some point in your life. It took me years to play it, and it was worth the wait.

One Shot isn't a game you'll play forever, it isn't a game that will entertain you for hundreds of hours. It is a game that you play expierience once. And That Play through will stick with you for a long time. Buy It Blind. The Less you know, the better.
