There is a lot of good and bad here plus a ton of potential!. I'll give the game a lot of slack because early access is always a crapshoot. The core gameplay loop is satisfying as heck, build, automate, upgrade repeat. Dig deep and mine the ores for profit! The building peices are basic but perfect and reflect dwarf core at its best. The maps are procedurally generated making each playthrough a challenge. There are even custom controls to increase or decrease difficulty, Gripes: resource elevators need to be reversible as of now they can only go one way making placing them a PITA. Attachment points for steam power are just inconvenient as HELL making a factory setup a hodge podge of awkward pipe runs Grid snapping is atrocious and off, there's no way to line thing sup, ( in satisfactory you'd get green lines showing when you were centered with another building) theres also no way to snap to the world grid making each factory completely off from eachother making properr rail connections a crapshoot. There is no overflow mechanic so you cant deal with overflow resources, this means rail networks cant be mixed as the resourced will get mixed and causing massive havoc. THere needs to be a remote way to change what each constructor is building, as your base grows and you need to change things on they fly unless you make a massive constructor factory you'll end up taking hours to travel to each site and manually change a constructor. I can WALK faster than a rail car. I can not RIDE a rail car (this is akin to putting a dog in a game not not letting me pet them) In satisfactory you can click your power pole to see how much energy you are producing, consuming, and your max capacity. There is no way to do this in orebound and you end up just adding things until they stop working then adding more awkward steam generators to the mix I cant hotbar buildings, this is an easy fix just add a shift/cntrl function to allow changing the hot bar so I can easily access things like belts, steam pipes, buildings, and floors/ramps. there currently are not enough tool upgrades AI is pretty bland and so is combat however I can imagine a 7 days to die survival mode where every night you have to defend against ever increasing waves of orcs, goblins, ogres, and more THAT would be awesome. mining during the day and defending during the night. combine that with an extraction blimp where you have to survive a certain amount of time until your extraction arrives. I wish there was a way to generate some components or remotely access them as multiple times I'd run out of a specific item and have to make a walk of shame back and forth. railcars needing TWO lines back and forth is ridiculous and creates massive visual clutter if satisfactory can manage a back and forth train so can you! your building tool obstructs view making aligning things in close proximity almost impossible. No way to nudge a building No way to hold a building in place for proper alignment rotation is janky as heck for some buildings no way to blue print a series of buildings, making base building a tedious chore for every setup as you fight the game mechanics. The shovel needs to have larger sizes of adding or removal and same for the pick axe I want a steam powered pick axe!!!! I would love to build a dwarven drill machine to make large tunnels LET ME DWARF DAMMNIT!! TLDR: Orebound is the quintessential dig, mine, profit, repeat dwarf miner simulator, but a lot of QOL functions need to be added to compete with other factory sims.

First things first, I believe people that tried the game in it's very early stages, should consider updating their reviews. I almost did not try it at all due to some of the reviews. PROs and CONs after aprox 60h and a full farm automation PROs: - idea is good, to great, I enjoyed the game, but keep in mind I had low expectations (because of all other reviews) - snapping feels good with a couple of small exceptions for the initial buildings put down on floors (I usually leveled the ground with the shovel then added a big stone floor on which I put small wooden floors to kind of guide myself on a grid-like plan for my setup) - I like the belts and rails, but you need time to get used with them espeially on curves and changing vertical plan - graphics are 50-50 but I'll put them to PROs - love the 3-way splitter CONs: - visuals on different turn points for belts and rails, overlapping objects, pipes, etc - visual bugs on outputs for the farms (empty packages for berries) - need better enemies, except for the boss which one shots (but if you play with a friend and lure him while the other damage him) all other enemies can be killed but just running around them and landing hits - not sure if it's a CON but splitters and mergers. Maybe it's just me, but couldn't they be integrated to the belt itself similar to those for rails ? They just take a lot of space Perhaps more content? xD I know, WIP. Keep up the good work and it can be a great game.

I like it. Just like. I mean sure, it's got dwarfs, it's got fortress building - apparently anywhere - and the truest goal of getting rich beyond the dreams of avarice. you are even inspired to sing while you dig. though, there seems to be only one song, and it sounds more like a sailors dirge. I wanna hear 'thats what Bilbo Baggins hates' not Over the misty mountains. know what I mean Vern? My only REAL complaint is that we have yet another survival game that has no clue how long a person can go with out sustenance. This game never asks you to drink or sleep, the bed seems to be for binding only, and I can't say I noticed a night cycle. but if I dont eat an entire boar and a couple bushes of berries every 20 minutes I'll die.

I really wanted to love this. Dwarves, automation, voxel sandbox? Sign me up! But after a few hours of punching rocks and fighting the UI more than the goblins, I realized: Orebound still has a long road ahead. Yes, the world looks cool, and I like the concept. But building feels clunky, automation is more frustrating than satisfying, and the combat... well, it’s there. Technically. If you enjoy experimenting in early-access games and don’t mind rough edges (lots of them), there’s potential here. Otherwise? Maybe check back in a few updates. ✅ Cool idea, solid atmosphere ❌ UI needs serious work ❌ Combat feels floaty and unfinished ❌ Performance can be choppy 🤷‍♂️ Worth watching – not quite worth diving in (yet) Final verdict: 6/10 – Dwarven spirit is strong, but the tools are rusty.

My friends and I think this game looks amazing and feels amazing, but our only issue is it isn't Multiplayer. Is there any talk about this game receiving multiplayer in the future?
