Frequently goes on 75-80% sales, and has started showing up in bundles, and on fanatical for something like a bux. So if you can get the basegame and the 2 DLCs for 4-5 bux - Then yes it's worth it, just get ready for constant AI city spam and the usual 4x game issues.

in short Complicated but good game so im 17hours in still learning the game but haveing fun REBELS lets talk about them from what i understood - So i have not EXP my self this YET but what i read in 1 of the event log that u have to send nobles to beat this rebels and i assume a full army of nobels because 1 peasant can rebel ur whole army IF i understand that correctly i played atm 102 turns NO rebels YET OVEREXTENSION & ??civil wars?? -if u over extend early u suffer alot . and exp the true China exp of becomeing to big and then fall do to rebels and civil wars - SO i think ther is civil wars??? no idea how to trigger them in short GREAT GAME gives u a true EXP of chinese history of getting shaved if u grow to fast or to slow i have seen that building slowly and focus on having EMERGENCY money will save u during a war. DO NOT go like get over here B**ch because u leave ur nation undefended Culture and Authority Culture = more trade ? Authority = control i think staying 50% of ur maximum u keep stable AS FAR AS I UNDERSTAND Authority 10 = 5 cities u fine Authority 10 = 10 cities u gonna struggle I THINK in conclusion BETTER THEN MOST CIV LIKE GAMES i hate wonders here none seen

Game is good, hasn't aged well but I think the effort put in by an indie is basically the same game but more exciting than what KEOI has done to their ROTK series after40 years in just a single attempt.

I don't have a PHD in turn-based strategy games but I will say that this game does capture that feel, or mindset, of "just one more turn before bed" exactly like you'd want a turn-based game to do. It's worth the buy if it's on sale.

This game is a lot of fun and definitely worth playing. It's actually quite innovative in a lot of ways. Here are some examples. 1. Turns happen simultaneously for the player/players and ai. 2. Cities trade with each other and it's actually important to set up a good trade network. (This includes creating production buildings, constructing ports, mining special resources, and more.) 3. Whilst you cannot control units on the battlefield you can see them battle in real time. (You can set tactics on units though) 4. Each city has two types of unrest which you have to manage (Peasant and noble unrest) instead of a global happiness system. 5. There are farmer and herder factions, each with different play styles. 6. An important part of sieging a settlement is surrounding it and breaking through its walls (especially late game) to attack which requires more thought but is also more rewarding than lowering a HP bar. Other nice things about the game 1. Scenarios are actually fun and varied. (In my opinion especially the dlc, the best I think being the three kingdoms one.) 2. The scale can become massive with thousands of soldiers fighting in battles. (It's quite cool when you see it) 3. There are many different units to recruit. 4. The game has a map and scenario editor you can play around with. All in all, Oriental Empires it most certainly not a civ clone but its own game. And in my opinion a great one.
