Pact Between Us | 我和未来有个约定 (中文评语在底部) This is a life simulation game featuring gameplay mechanics similar to a simple business management or tycoon game, with FMV scenes. It may not be for everyone, but if you enjoy tycoon games, you’ll find it satisfying to watch your success grow as you progress. The game begins with you as the older brother of a 10-year-old girl. After your parents have passed away, you take on the responsibility of looking after her. You experience what it’s like to be a parent, making this a parent simulation game. The little girl starts at the Preteen stage (ages 10–11), then progresses to Vivacious (ages 12–14), and finally reaches Sirens (ages 15–18). You can experience her growth and progress differently at each stage, with a different actress portraying her at every stage. In her mid-teens, you can train her to become a superstar or guide her toward other careers, such as a teacher or doctor. [*] Tycoon-style progression – You’ll find it satisfying to earn money, have her win contests, and successfully develop skills for her future career. [*] Events and Travel – The game includes special event cutscenes and you can arrange trips with her. Each season and age has its own unique scene. [*] Enjoyable background music and acting – The background music is pleasant, and the actresses deliver excellent performances. [*] Customizable clothing – You can buy many outfits for her to wear, which will appear in the in-game background video while she is at home. [*] No additional online verification DRM – The game’s legitimacy is verified by Steam, without any extra verification that could cause connection issues or prevent the game from being playable in the future if the developer’s server is shut down. Cons [*] Confusing Age and Month display – Her birthday is in May, but the game shows her age and month number from 1–12, which can make it confusing to know how old she is. For example, when she is 13 in December, it shows “Age 13, Month 12,” and in the next month (January of the following year), it shows “Age 13, Month 1.” [*] Bugs – There are some bugs in the game. However, it is still playable without major issues; most bugs only affect saving progress for money, tiredness and skills. [*] Game crashes and lost save progress – The game only permanently saves when you exit. If it crashes, you may lose all your progress. Even though the game shows that you manually saved to a file, this is not a permanent save on your hard drive. Some players do not experience crashes, but for those who do, it is recommended to exit the game frequently. [*] No Steam Cloud Save – The game saves are stored only on your local drive and are not backed up to Steam. This game lets you experience what it’s like to become a parent, including the feelings and relationships with your sister/daughter. There are many touching scenes where she (your sister/daughter) talks to you as her brother/parent. The main message the game wants to deliver to the parent/player is to allow your child to make their own choices. Your role as a guardian is to protect them, guide them away from mistakes, and help them achieve their preferred career. The game does not present a “bad ending” for any career she reaches; but if we think in depth, what is more important is her happiness in being able to do what she is truly interested in. Actually this game not bad, quite interesting just that the brother like a leecher . The sister didn't know she support herself instead haha. The developer should change his brother hardworking supporting her sister then putting practice let her sister earn money like a pimp haha

Story/Plot: Pact Between Us is a game in the vein of a child-raising/stat management game with FMV elements. If you played any of the Princes Maker or Long Live the Queen then you know the mechanics. The game starts with an older brother who decides to raise his sister after their parents died. The FMV comes in when certain milestones are reached like birthdays, as well as normal activities like jobs, etc. Fortunately you can skip them once they have played so if you do decide to replay it isn't quite as tedious. One problem with this game is while it technically has English subtitles, the translation really isn't good. I was able to make out enough of what was going on, but if the dev does well with this, I would recommend revamp the subtitles. Visuals: Basically there are two main visuals in this. One is a series of charts which show values which may go up or down like health, money or skills. The other is footage as mentioned above, as well as multiple endings. Most of the FMVs aren't very long, and I will commend the dev for at least having different backgrounds for many of the segments. There is one company that basically went to 'sit on a couch, and have the same wall all game' which dulls the experience. Gameplay: As mentioned this is a stat raising game, so you have to balance needs like money, rest, and health as well as trying to raise certain stats so you could unlock more advanced skills or other jobs. Compared to other games like this, this one isn't to difficult but you definitely won't get everything on one playthrough. Sound/Music: There are plenty of sounds and music in the game, as well as audio especially thanks to the FMV parts. Nothing really stood out to me, but neither did it detract. Difficulty: This game isn't to difficult if you decide to focus on a certain job or maximize a stat. If you are a completionist, there is no way you can get everything all at once. One other thing is that along the way, hints will unlock about how to get certain jobs at the end with what stats they need. Extras/Achievements: This game has Achievements, and they aren't to tough to get other than spending a bit of time However, to get 100% will require multiple playthroughs. And it is nice that after playing through most of the scenes, you can have an option to skip them. However, there were a couple of times that it didn't (like some of the celebrations) Recommendation: So would I recommend the game? If you don't mind stat raising and FMV sequences, then this might be up your alley. The price point isn't to bad either; $6.99 US. The one caveat I have to give is that the translation...well, it could be better. You can pick your way through it but sometimes wrong pronouns, names, or action words were used, and some of them took me out of the moment.
