An excellent game that I do recommend. It's meant to be played over a few times, and difficulty scales with the number of playthroughs per character. That said, it is not without it's flaws. Most of the special weapons (with the exception of Grekham's Might) are generally pretty bad in terms of use. Their damage is low and special skills for these weapons, while neat, are pretty useless beyond the first playthrough, since monsters are higher levels and your characters damage is reduced. best stick to craftable gear. Which is just mildly disappointing and not a true detriment. The game itself seems unfinished, with several places that seem like you should be able to access them but have no associated maps or questlines. Including Ice fall passage, blocked off areas in the capital, eikhart (sp?) at the most south westerly portion of the game, a mysterious port at the north west corner past the academy, Bheir the Berserker, and a number of locked buildings in the capital and sealed buildings in the academy (including a large lighthouse). I dont know if updates are planned for these items, but they bothered me quite a bit. Additionally the optional ending where you receive the champions coin is disappointing and hardly different with no bonus. I erroneously assumed this would have benefits in further playthroughs. However, it is an engaging game with a play style somewhere around Drova or Secret of Mana (1 player) and yes, several accessible secrets and engaging lore without over doing dialogue. Do play Pale Coins

Great little game! Witcher 3 if it was combined with Zelda LTTP basically. I have a couple bits of feedback and some questions. Feedback: -Combat is pretty fun, but I kinda wish you could use dodge to cancel actions similar to Instant Reset in Dragon's Dogma -Loot is super cool, but I wish the unique stuff scaled better. Maybe I just haven't found the REAL good stuff yet (I'm in my first NG+) but it seems like most of the unique purple weapons I found so far are built for early-mid game. I also kinda just wish there were more purple weapons that added unique spell abilities to the special move list. So far the only ones I've found are either spec'd for non-dex builds or not made for late game. -Sockets/Gems are fun, but it seems like for the effort to combine them they don't improve much. Also, I wish you could use the combining table to combine 3 copies of the same weapon to up it's rarity and reroll the perks. -Crafting is fun in concept, but it seems like by the time you start getting scrolls built up it's all trash items. I think unique weapons should be craftable. Also there seem to be a lot of materials that I can't find a use for like the Pale Crystal Piece. I imagine it's similar to the Pale Orbs but I have no idea what to do with it. Artifacts also seem to be mostly trash. All the good artifacts are purple rarity ones. -Material gathering is kinda all over the place, I can run around and get more monster teeth and obsidian and monster drop materials than I could possibly use, but trying to grind potion materials takes FOREVER. I have been trying to grind up small herbs to make small potions to make medium potions for NG+ but it feels like it takes a million years to grind them up, all for what I would consider some of the most basic items in any game. I think plant spawns amount and rate should be tied to luck. Questions: -Is Icefall (or whatever town the trade caravan is from), the Docks area, and Erdstadt available at all? So far I haven't found a way to access any of these areas (though I plan on taking the Champion Coin for myself this time so maybe that's what I need to melt the ice for Icefall??). Are they gonna be an update/DLC? Or have I just not found the way to unlock them yet? -Is there some sort of post-game crafting area with NPCs that take rarer materials and offer better/unique equipment? Also what the hell do I do with the Pale Crystal Pieces?

Support this dev. Dude knocked it the fk out of the park. I have some of the rarer achievements in this after one playthrough, and found a few different ways to achieve the same goals. There are areas I haven't accessed yet (the docks, noble quarter, and other parts of the capital) but I feel like I have experienced enough of the game to leave an honest review. The honest review is this - I've been gaming for more than 35 years. If this game had been out in the SNES era, it would have been a MAJOR player, and a complete game changer. In 2025 it stands out as doing several things that I really enjoy in this genre (RPG, my favourite) very well. These things are: 1. Loot - lots, varied, and it seems there is always something new or an upgrade to chase. Chests always feel exciting, and unique/epic drops are... well, unique and epic. 2. Combat - The combat is as smooth as can be for a top down 3rd person isometric RPG. Feels very polished and responsive. Don't forget your potions and resource management! 3. Customising your character - Not the appearance, although that is also here (albeit in a minimalistic sense). I mean customizing your playthrough with a different approach to combat. The game takes the old classics and does them well - Warrior, Ranger, Mage. You can mix and match as you see fit, once you get to a high enough level. 4. Power fantasy - Leveling up doesn't feel super impactful at first, but if you stick with it you will be rewarded. By the end of my first playthrough I was 4-5 hitting the hidden end bosses. Making important choices meaningful means you can unlock better gear at the sacrifice of other things (I chose to use a giant 2h Unique Zweihander which required a 50 str point investment, but this meant that at level 35 I didn't have much else, a few points into luck and vitality). Don't worry if you mess up, there will be a "respec" unlocked at a certain point in the story. I highly recommend this game, especially at it's price point.

Tl:dr - great game with some minor flaws. Similar(ish) to Drova. Long version - Soo... I've read somewhere that it's like Drova and I decided to give it a try for a few minutes, and 3hrs spent in a blink of an eye, and few more next day. Story is engaging so I won't spoil any of it, the overall concept of titular coins is also interesting. Game is really good. If comparing to Drova, there are some differences - monsters respawn, you have dungeons, that you can farms, three (or four?) factions are available, there's an additional, second "skill tree", bosses are main challenge, normal monsters are easier to deal with than in Drova, but it has also many similarities like training skills at trainers, overall difficulty and skill required and don't know how to say it but just "spirit" of the game feels Drova-like. Graphics is rather nice pixelart, but in some places quality of it is much worse than in others, like bridge west of academy which looks simply out of place due to difference in pixelart quality. There are some beautiful and picturesque places as well, don't get me wrong. Combat feels great, it's swift, demanding and rewarding. Music and sound effects are good as well. Absolutely impressive for a solo dev. My only issue was that two times I was albo to lock myself in a place where I should get into in a first place, but reloading fixed it, also found a bug where you can get reward for one of the quests infinite number of times. (Guard checking for his buddy) Played only on steam deck and everything runs perfectly, IMHO should be verified soon.

Fun little game! Took about 5 hours to complete, though I'm sure I missed some content. I played a melee character and found it relatively easy. I think I'd be up for doing a magic playthrough at some point. Engaging story, dialogue is a bit simplistic at some points. I loved the art style.
