TERRACRYPT has been getting a lot of hate, especially multiplayer. But single-player and when I've hosted a LAN server, the game has run perfectly fine for me, even on epic graphics. The level scaling I feel like is a little better than it is in OG PixARK. The bosses are also a lot more fun and interesting. The NPCs and dialogue are kind of meh, but I do think it's neat that they added NPCs. I just wish there was more interaction with them. At the very least, having them walk around or actually do something other than awkwardly standing completely still would make the game feel a little more alive. Overall, I find this DLC pretty fun, and more interesting and enjoyable to play than OG PixARK. Honestly, the only time I ever had fun playing OG PixARK was when ThickFreedom hosted a multiplayer server back in 2018. Once that died down, playing PixARK was boring, annoying, and felt like a drag, so it's a little refreshing to actually enjoy the game for once LMAO. (Also if you plan on buying Terracrypt, achievements ONLY work LAN or multiplayer, but you can basically play single-player by selecting “Steam Friends Only,” so it’s not much of a deal breaker.)
as of 9/3/2026 For new or Returning players please Ignore the Negative reviews and actually try the game for yourself. alot of these people are so spoiled that they will complain about anything. Almost ALL of the Negative Reviews are from people who only played the game for maybe 30-40min. Their Reviews are not Valid what so ever. only Negative reviews you should listen to are those with gameplay longer then a few hours to be honest. if you gave up on this game or found bugs that made you not wanna play this game anymore you should come back!!! the Devs have been updating the game every single day since the new DLC has come out and not just The new DLC but also the original PixArk Map and Skyward!! These Devs are really putting in the work to bring this game to its former glory and you guys should honestly come experience the changes. all of the servers have recently been reset and updated so it will be like playing for the first time again . i Currently play on Official PVE 12 and Official TerraCrypt PVE 6 if you wanna come play!
pretty shocked by all the hate this game is receiving. after many years the dev team is trying to breathe new life into the game. it's never been abandoned and thru the years they have continually added new creatures/cosmetics/blocks. now with this new dlc imo..it's even better. tons and tons of new creatures/weapons/npcs/quests. having over 1,000 hrs in Ark and 750+ in minecraft and vintage story i can say this game is a blast! it's a mix of all 3 but with it's own style. i do not play multiplayer so i think the performance on severs are an issue for many reviewers but i prefer sp. so i host a LAN sever to have the ability for my achievements. if u enjoy taming creatures (a ton of variety), building, crafting, exploring, dungeon delving...try this, it's 5 bucks. note: i do own all the dlc an cosmetic packs but the base game itself has a ton of content.
