I can't remember how many versions of this game I had played before and I was so angry with the developers that I promised myself that I'd never waste my time on this game. Yet I bought the game once again and my surprise was huge when I realized it had improved for real. Honestly, I haven't noticed any important bug so far and I the model behind the game dynamics is just amazing. It's the most realistic version of the game, from the economy to politics to the geopolitical relationships between countries. The game is just great and that's why I strongly recommend playing it. It's true that it's so extremely realistic and deep that it can also be frustrating and overwhelming if you don't understand the reasons why things happen in the game. As a previously angry player, here are some clues to enjoy the game better: 1- You have to be patient to enjoy the game. First, you need to spend a little time analysing your country's economy, political situation, etc. Trying to turn your country into your personal utopia (or conquering the world) in your first game will end up with your character overthrown or executed. Just like in real life. 2- Play tutorials, read guides and/or start with a low level difficulty to get familiar with the enormous amount of actions and dynamics of the game. And also some ideas for the developers to improve their great work in the future: 1- The ministerial pop-ups in the left-hand side might be a bit overwhelming at times (just like the game itself). 2- I think that access to critical resources as well as the trade routes should be more relevant. For instance, you shouldn't be able to even construct some renewable energy's infrastructures without critical materials (now, you just get them in the market for a higher price). Besides, trade routes are only relevant with pipelines at the moment and access to key trade points (like Suez) is basically irrelevant. 3- More depth in the international organizations playability would be great. 4- Minor comment: Also, I haven't found a way to extend a pipeline so you can construct it on 2 countries in year 1, extend it to a third one un year 2, and so on. As far as I know, the only way is constructing the whole pipeline at a time.

Let's start with the differences with the previous version (2019): - Obviously there is the whole thematic of COVID-19. I want to except this which is the least relevant to my opinion. - Scientific developments can become new sectors in the economy! services and industry. Good input! this makes your GDP grow and generates wealth. - I have noticed improvements with commercial contracts. Especially contracts that include "unique products". Military contracts with your own country also improved and boost the development of industrial sectors. - I have also noticed improvements in AI regarding wars and some other minor issues. For example, the AI realizes what your country lacks in economy and tries to sell it. - Global warming and "world alerts" are more detailed. - There are also improvements in some infrastructures. 5G, advanced Nuclear Power Plants, etc. - The space race is great! Structural issues that are not yet fixed or added (I guess in the next version of the game some will be added or corrected): - Poverty linear evolution is still strange. A few days ago I noticed that it improves by increasing the "solidarity allowance" inside the "work" section. It seems to me a bit (quite) simplistic to reduce poverty to a simple allowance. Even more so when there are so many economic variables in play. - Since the previous version (if I remember correctly), there is a form of "monetary reserves" of the state, but only when you paid the debt and the fiscal surplus is increasing these "reserves". Simplifying the reserves of a Central Bank to this is almost... ridiculous. But anyway, you can keep the accumulated surplus, which is a good thing. In the future, the subject of reserves should be added, whether in currency, gold, bitcoin, or a mix of all. This is also related to the next point: - The current accounts of the countries do not yet exist! it is very important that they add this data in order to complete one of the biggest missing pieces of the game in economics! - Regarding the currency, it is not yet possible to adopt currency convertibility patterns. Be it with Gold, Euro, Bitcoin, etc. Continuing with the monetary issue, there is still an assumption of perfect money issuance, monetary aggregates. This reduces the only function of Central Banks to interest rates as a monetary anchor. This is simplifying the monetary issue to very basic levels. Money demand is only represented by the evolution of GDP, another error of the game to limit it to that. - We still cannot privatize the whole of a country's pensions, health, and education. The first point can be mixed (so so), but the second and the third do not even come close to a minimum level of privatization; this has to be added and adapted to the game urgently! and if possible, security as well. - I insist (as in the review I did of the 2019 version) that the game should have subsectors in the economy. I would stop adding more sectors and focus on it. - I keep experiencing huge growth in some sectors of the economy like Electrical Materials. This sector ALWAYS ends up being the largest sector in the economy of all countries. This means there is infinite demand... not really understood. While they fixed the bugs of unexplained sector crashes it would be good to adjust this as well. - It is not clear why energy would be privatized if the only way for a country (in the game) to build power plants of any kind is for the state to build them. Why keep the wind sector private if they are not going to build infrastructure to improve quantity and quality, it is ridiculous. It's the same as hospitals and schools ..... Despite all these mistakes, buy the game! it's worth it! it's the only one of its kind and it's getting better and better.

Well, game is great for its genre it might be the only game this complex, it is a great game in concept but poorly executed, lots of bugs and bad optimization, dated ui, bad voice acting etc. But still it is good game, i bought it to support the developers i hope they will make gps5 much much better with new ui, graphics, better optimization and voice acting Note: Please add option to disable city battles, it is very annoying feature. Note2: Don't bother the buy dlc, god and spy is basicly a cheat engine and almost useless.

PRO - This is the just the best game in its genre. I don't know any other game that reflects geopolitics, and especially internal politics that precisely. There is a lot you can do, and chose any party/opposition in any country in the world. As a strategy game fan I really enjoy playing it - Comparing with P&R 2018, the war system has improved quite a lot (I love the SAM system that is more autonomous) - I find this version much more stable. I play it with the same computer as P&R 2018 and this version seems to run much smoothier and faster - They did quite a good job by including Covid Suggestions from a long-term fan - Please Eversim, stop making a whole new game + fully-payable Add-ons each time you add a couple features! It would make much more sense if there was a main game + 10€ DLCs for the yearly update - Regarding modding: Why not using the Steam Workshop and allow more modding possibilities (Creating new laws for example)? I think there's a lot of creativity out there and if you look at some games (Paradox Games for example), some are even more famous for their mods than for the game itself (therefore making more sales on the original game and compensating on the loss for the modding add-on) - The war AI has been a bit improved but is still quite dumb. For example taking 80% of its ground army, sending it into the sea for a landing and moving it right into the enemy naval forces..? - Player can be a democracy and send tanks against protesters and only lose a couple points popularity..? Some of the options you should be able to do only with certain conditions, or consequences should be accurate.

First things first. Power and Revolution 2020 is not a new game. It is simply Power and Revolution 2019, with additional 2020 features. Notably, Coronavirus. The Coronavirus Pandemic is now simulated by P&R 2020 with various control options to mitigate or contain the spread of Coronavirus. This is probably the most significant change compared to last year's game. There are now also a few more land units for the military, but on the whole there aren't too many significant changes to the gameplay, as has been the case for a while now. While the graphics are clunky and reminiscent of early 2000's game UI, and the gameplay is sometimes quite buggy (speaking from 2019 experience), there really isn't any other game like it out there that simulates the world to such an extent. Perhaps Realpolitiks II is the closest, but still. If you want a Geopolitical simulator, just know that this one isn't perfect, but it's currently the best option for this niche. For a casual player, upgrading from 2019 to 2020 is probably not worth it. If you really want the Coronavirus management scenarios, it may be worth it. For new players, since the prices are almost the same, just go for this one. But do some research as to whether this game is right for you first, as I know it won't be for many people.
