Different, Fun, and Well Made I've been waiting for Pragmata since it was announced back in 2020. After waiting for six years, I can say Capcom has delivered once again. They are keeping their streak as currently the most successful AAA studio with frequent releases. Plus, doing that without leaning on the same old IPs is something that deserves praise. Narrative I am not a huge fan of the narrative, as Capcom has never been a storytelling-focused studio. They've always been a gameplay-first studio and I've loved them for that. But I can safely say that Pragmata is their most narrative-focused game yet. Gameplay is still the primary focus, and I can say it's pretty good and quite different from what we've seen. I can't say the story is amazing, but the effort they put into Diana and her interactions with Hugh is pretty cool and something new from Capcom. I hoped for a little bit more when it came to storytelling, it's definitely nothing too special. Gameplay and Systems Pragmata blends TPS action and puzzles in a great way. It is innovative and fun, and the learning curve is really well adjusted. Different weapons, charms (mods), and upgrades all allow the player to have various builds and gameplay styles, which is great and was fun for me throughout the whole 20 hours. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3712721283 Flaws I can't find anything bad about this game, honestly, except for the undercooked narrative. The game has only one line for finishers, Hugh says "take this!" and that's it. No other line for an action you will be doing dozens of times in a single playthrough is really weird, especially considering the attention to detail seen in certain parts of the game and the years of delays. Not too important, but strange. Nothing about Pragmata is extraordinary but almost everything about it is pretty good and more importantly, the gameplay feels very fresh. That's what matters for me. Audio Music is decent. It does the job well, but nothing special. Visuals and Art Direction The art direction and the visuals are beautiful. Path tracing works way better than Resident Evil Requiem and actually makes a difference. The enemy designs and environmental designs are all top notch. Graphics are good, and the game runs amazingly. Final Thoughts Pragmata is a great game that is very well designed, unique, and well executed. That's why I'll keep this short, since all the good things have already been said and I agree and don't have anything against the game. Pragmata feels like a true AAA game wherever you look. I really enjoyed this new experience. Keep going Capcom! GOLDEN MEDAL Follow my Curator Page For More Reviews ⚜️

Having played the game fully I can whole heartedly say it is worth every penny. The puzzles are short and simple, the gun play is nice and smooth, and the girl is the most adorable thing on the planet. 10/10 story 10/10 game.

Pragmata is a stupendous masterpiece for any man who actually has a soul. It is a truly wonderful experience with novel gameplay. Some of the optional challenges actually push you to your limits both in strategic thinking and skill. In a revolutionary twist on the Metroidvania format, Diana doesn't bother you about making game progress and revisits the subject of your original conversations as you backtrack through areas. Hugh and Diana's relationship is fleshed out organically as you satisfy her curiosity about the original subject talked about at that location. 10/10, changed my life and gave me the motivation to try again! Will be voting for it to be game of the year.

Very fresh and rejuvenating game from all the games we have been getting over the past couple years. This game is heartwarming, action-packed, and a dad simulator all in one. So far this is my favorite game this year and Capcom really delivered with this game. The puzzles are short and sweet, the collectibles are very fun to go for and the lore in this game is actually pretty heavy in some areas of the game. 10/10 game overall and it will make you smile and cry. P.S. You will want to have a daughter after this game, so be aware!

Most fun I've had in a AAA in forever. Game runs absolutely beautifully on Linux as well. Had one crash ~10 min in on Proton 9, but moving to Proton Experimental resolved that issue. Game runs on highest settings without any noticeable performance hit, though I haven't found a way to check exact fps. Onto the actual game, they have integrated a hacking system right ontop of the fps controller. You swap between managing hacking or aiming by holding alt, with the mouse providing input for both. This sounds inconvenient in theory, but holy crap it works well. Armor plating actually functions as armor, unlike many games. Best get good at hacking, if they aren't open don't bother shooting. Your main weapon is effectively a revolver, you have 6 shots before needing to recharge. Progression is linked to several different trees, between you and your weapons, Diana and her hacking, and the shelter with its expedition prep. Speaking of the shelter, it is the main place for collectibles to be displayed and show great progress throughout. Things change based on how you've done, and Diana reacts to it all. Now speaking of Diana, she is absolutely precious and you will love every single thing you find that she does. If the devs have her harmed in the story, then I am getting violent. This is all you need to know. Buy it, play it, enjoy it. This game is well worth full price, and I don't say that one lightly.
