I was looking for a game that could capture the same atmosphere and feeling as "Cry of fear" and this game absolutely did :3 the story felt a bit slow at first, but everything came together perfectly by the end. The ending left me speechless, i absolutely loved this game~ Huge thanks and shoutout to the creator for such an amazing experience <3
A love letter to Cry of Fear. It has the right vibe and you can tell the developer understands what made that game so special. The melancholic atmosphere is honestly the strongest part of the game and there are a few moments that really reminded me why I love this type of horror. Unfortunately it's just too short to fully use its potential. Because of that, it ends up feeling more like a Cry of Fear copy than its own game. It borrows a lot of ideas but never really gets enough time to build its own identity. Despite that, I still enjoyed it. For a first game it's a really solid effort and I definitely see a lot of potential in the developer. I'm honestly excited to see what they make next because I think they could create something really special if they focus more on their own ideas.
People who quite literally hate this game for being "too similar to CoF" are bums and glaze Cry of Fear far too much. It's the same people that complain about "there's no new CoF content" or "where's CoF 2/remake???" as well. The game is genuinely scary and has amazing sound design and aesthetics/vibe. It's a really fun play, I would recommend. Especially with the new update coming soon that will improve the game further and add more content. For being a shorter game, there's still replay-ability and I would still have paid 5 dollars for it after beating the game and knowing the content within. It's worth it, and it's peak. Absolute pyromania. Also you can see the love the dev has for the game and how much care he puts into it with listening to feedback or asking for suggestions in the Discord server. Oh and for that one review that said "for being called Pyromaniac you don't light a lot of fires" maybe try playing the game and absorbing the story it gave you because that's genuinely the worst reason to ever give a negative review in history and it has me heated.
Cute little love letter to Cry of Fear with very similar gameplay and nighttime European city setting. Even though the game is very obviously hugely inspired by Cry of Fear it has its own identity with some unique new moments and a different (though easily foreseeable) ending twist. Easy recommend for everyone who loved Cry of Fear and wants to experience more like it. It is short, but also cheap.
