Absolutely insane remaster. At this point I would probably call it a whole ass remake. Great combat, great puzzle, engaging story, wonderful world to explore, and all around just a fun time, despite being a Megaten game.

Amazing. Straddles the line between remaster and remake, adds fantastic QOL, new models, new animations, makes the prerendered background full 3d, upscales prererendered cutscenes, adds full voice acting, and backports the enhancements to gameplay from the sequel, thus offering the best version of these games unique real time combat that is different from all other Atlus combat systems! Now onto the next game and Digital Devil Saga, please. These remasters are fantastic given ATLUS has a brilliant backcatalog from before they broke big internationally, that is stuck on old consoles and was made with smaller budgets (particularly the 3ds games), and those games might as well be NEW for most of their actual audience. A fresh coat of paint and a couple translations, and you have a bunch of quality games that are new to your players. This game was the black sheep of Atlus' PS2 era. The enhancements have improved it from a 5.5 to about an 8. Im still more fond of the setting than the actual plot (the second game is much better written to me) and think you should start your SMT journey elsewhere but damn, its now actually worth playing and enjoyable without havong to skip straight to the sequel. Its cool to see a game become this much better. My only objection is that some dialogues were cooler in the original translation but they are nothing compared to all the enhancements You are a Devil Summoning Detective investigating cases in 1920's Japan with your trusty talking cat and figthing demons with your sword, gun, and demonic allies in real time combat that differs from any other SMT and will help break up the homogeny of turn based systems. What is not to love? I'd invest heavily into remastering the PS2 and 3DS games (which might also create interest in subseries like Devil Survivor or heck, Trauma Center) to expand the offer to the audience while time is gained for the truly new stuff like SMT6 or P6. WE WOULD MUCH RATHER SEE OLD GAMES REBORN TO FILL THE GAP THAN MORE SILLY SPINOFFS LIKE TACTICA, GUYS

Back in secondary school, I played this on the PS2, some of the best times ever. Persona 4, Digital Devil Saga, (Devil Summoner ) Raidou Kuzunoha… all unforgettable. Funny thing is, I didn’t even realize they were all Atlus games back then. It was the vibe that familiar gameplay style and atmosphere that kept pulling me in till the very end. ================== 还在中学的时候，我在 PS2 上玩这些游戏，那是我最美好的时光之一。女神异闻录4、数码恶魔传说、恶魔召唤师 葛叶雷道……每一款都令人难以忘怀。有趣的是，那时候我甚至没意识到它们都是 Atlus 出品的。 就是那种氛围，那熟悉的玩法和游戏风格，一直吸引着我直到最后。
