Playing as a cardboard cutout cloud raining on people's heads and ruining their day is a pretty enjoyable experience not gonna lie. I love all the creative levels they threw in here to really spice up the gameplay and there are some really fun references to other video games that brought a smile to my face, too. Don't take a raincheck on this one!

Rain on Your Parade is a very colorful game. No, I don’t mean literally, although it is extremely colorful and vibrant. I mean gameplay-wise. There are many aspects and complicated principles that game designers try to abide by, but Rain on Your Parade upholds and masters the first and most important principle: Don’t bore the player. There isn’t a single boring moment in Rain on Your Parade (and believe me, it isn’t the shortest game). Every stage has a gimmick, a story, a gameplay mechanic (or a creative way to apply pre-existing gameplay mechanics), a joke, a concept. If you’ve been thirsty (pun fully intended) for games with heart that burst with so much content that each hour feels longer than it is, this game will leave you with an overabundance. (Also, it has one of the friendliest communities and dev teams in the universe, their discord server is a gem that must be protected at all costs)

Rain on Your Parade is a wonderfully chaotic and whimsically creative indie game that stands out by embracing pure, unapologetic mischief. Developed and published by Unbound Creations, it casts you as Cloudy, an adorable cardboard cloud with a single purpose: to ruin as many days as possible. What begins as a simple ability to rain on unsuspecting bystanders quickly expands into a toolbox of unconventional weather powers that let you wreak havoc across increasingly absurd scenarios. From the very beginning, the game makes it clear that it isn’t interested in realism or seriousness—it thrives on playful anarchy and comedic surprise. The visual style is one of the game’s immediate charms. Everything is designed to look handcrafted, like a child’s diorama brought to life: cardboard buildings, painted paper characters, felt-tip marker outlines, and cut-out scenery that gives each level a cozy yet quirky aesthetic. This scrapbook presentation pairs wonderfully with the game’s tone, making every scene feel like a playful joke. The animations are simple but effective, with characters reacting in humorous and exaggerated ways when Cloudy unleashes rain, thunder, snow, or far more chaotic elements. The music and sound effects reinforce the lighthearted atmosphere, offering upbeat tunes and silly audio cues that make the game feel welcoming even as you’re causing mass panic. The structure of Rain on Your Parade is built around a sequence of short, highly varied levels, each introducing a new gimmick, genre parody, or comedic twist. No two stages feel quite alike. One moment you’re drenching wedding guests just to spoil their big day, and the next you’re sneaking through a facility in a tongue-in-cheek stealth mission or fighting waves of enemies in a level styled after classic action games. The constant shift in tone and mechanics keeps the experience fresh, and the game seldom lets an idea overstay its welcome. Even the objectives vary from simple “soak everything” tasks to more specific puzzle-like goals that require paying attention to characters, props, or environmental interactions. As Cloudy gains new abilities, the gameplay becomes more unpredictable and entertaining. Rain transforms into a multi-purpose tool that can douse flames, melt snow, or fill objects with water. Thunder can scare or disable machines, while tornado powers let you fling objects around in delightfully destructive fashion. Some liquids Cloudy absorbs create chaotic consequences, such as pouring oil to start fires or splashing coffee to energize NPCs into unhinged behavior. This broadening set of tools adds depth without becoming overwhelming—the game wants players to experiment, not micromanage. Despite its charm, Rain on Your Parade does carry some limitations. The very randomness and playfulness that make it entertaining can also make it feel inconsistent. Some levels are brilliant, tightly designed, and packed with clever jokes, while others feel more like brief experiments that don’t land quite as well. The difficulty can fluctuate unexpectedly, with a few stages requiring precision or timing that may frustrate players expecting a purely casual experience. The overall campaign is also relatively short; though filled with variety, it doesn’t offer extensive replay value beyond optional goals, hidden secrets, and cosmetic customization for Cloudy. Yet even with these minor drawbacks, the game shines through its personality. Cloudy can be customized with hats, colors, and even hand-drawn faces, giving players a chance to add a bit of their own humor to the character. The writing leans into silly jokes, meta references, and playful narration without trying too hard, making it accessible to younger audiences while still offering winks at older players. It’s a rare game that feels both wholesome and mischievous at the same time—an experience built around lighthearted creativity rather than competition or complexity. Ultimately, Rain on Your Parade is a joyful dose of interactive comedy that succeeds because it embraces absurdity without restraint. It’s charming, unpredictable, and crafted with a genuine sense of fun, offering a series of imaginative levels that invite players to experiment, laugh, and cause harmless chaos. Although it may not offer long-term depth or intense challenge, it delivers exactly what it promises: a humorous, inventive adventure starring a mischievous little cloud who just wants to make the world a little soggier. For players seeking a breezy, feel-good game full of personality and surprises, Rain on Your Parade is a delightful choice. Rating: 9/10

This is one of the coolest games I've experienced. I enjoy being a mischievous little cloud trolling around! The style, the gameplay, the self-irony of it all—brilliant. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s exactly what makes it so fun. Wholesome chaos at its finest.
