A nifty and novel little genrecombo of deckbuilding and citybuilder, with the neat twist that everything is on a 2D plane instead of a 3D one. Fun to unlock all leaders and cards, but the difficulty scaling can become insane. High difficulty survival is reliant on certain deck comps, which are themselves reliant on RNGesus to bless you.

I've been playing this game on and off for years and it is still one of my favorites. I've played dozens of roguelites but still remains near the top due to the kind of mixture of RTS, deckbuilding, and tower defense/autobattling.

I love this little game. It's got a deliciously bizarre flavor. It's replayable. It's difficult. It's fun. The RNG can be absolutely brutal stomping you immediately. Needless to say I got hooked on it. If you like tower defense games, if you like card drawing economy games, it's pretty worthwhile. I've gotten a ton of entertainment out of it.

Mouse city ... simple build and defense game, which will keep you till you get all chalenges or give up and then you will at some future time return to it to complete all. Synchronize nicely between win/mac. So good for travels.

Ratropolis [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/36948155-Card-Game-KING/] FOR MORE CARD AND BOARD GAMES FOLLOW US CARD GAME KING Ratropolis is a real time autobattler tower defense roguelike deckbuilder hybrid, aka Rats with guns and swords. It's been some time since release, so how does Ratropolis withstand the test of time? Quite well actually. Despite games of similar genre being released in the meantime, none quite do with Ratropolis does - a light version of a tower defense, city building and card game. I say light, because none of these systems taken by themselves are particularly deep. Deckbuilding, for example, is meaningful but with not many combos with decks being typically fairly small. Tower defense is essentially just making sure you make sufficient number of troops on each side. And citibuilding is just about squeezing as many buildings as you can in a limited area. That said, the systems work well together to offer meaningful decisions and the real time aspect adds a new layer of challenge. I will say that if you prefer turn-based games, you shouldn't be turned off by Ratropolis' real time aspect. While you can't issue commands during a pause, the game doesn't typically punish slower reactions and I rarely felt overwhelmed as the game gives you enough time to prepare for each wave (at lower difficulties at least) Thankfully, the units and buildings attack automatically but the player can time spells at the right moment to sway the battle. There is a fair amount of versatility with different factions (each having their own set of cards), leaders (2 variations per faction), zones (3 zones with different enemy types) and 20 difficulty levels. After fighting off 29 waves, the last wave contains a big boss after which the run is won and new cards are unlocked. Unfortunately, new cards are unlocked at snail's pace which is shame because the biggest issue with the game is repetitiveness. It doesn't seem there is much variety when replaying the same faction with the same leader as you repeat the same strategies This would be my biggest gripe with the game, but thankfully with different leaders and 6 factions, it will be some time until you have to replay a faction. The positive + Combination of different systems work well together. + Decent deckbuilding opportunities + Good variety of factions and leaders, each with their own gamestyle. The neutral * Issuing commands under pause would have been a useful feature to have for players that prefer to stop and think, but thankfully the game is not overwhelming. The negative - A bit repetitive when replaying the same factions Conclusion: Great genre hybrd where the deckbuilding remains meaningful, despite limited combos. It has a good variety of leaders and factions and the real time aspect isn't overbearing. Recommended.
