Fullscreen mode defaults to the monitor's minimum refresh rate, such as 24 or 40 Hz, even if the screen refresh rate is set higher than that. To override refresh rate set by game: Download Chiri's resolution forcing tool. Extract d3d9.dll and d3dx.ini to <path-to-game>. Open d3dx.ini. Change refresh_rate=60 to desired hertz; e.g. refresh_rate=120.

Rayman Legends is the all time greatest 2D platformer that has ever been created. No amount of responses below this review, listing or detailing other amazing 2D platformers for me to play, or refutations will convince me! Only Donkey Kong Returns is a peer to the sublime mix of visual splendor, artistic ingenuity, top notch animation, music, and sound design, incredible character design, fun level design, fantastic controls, mechanics, and gameplay. This game is a pure joy to play. This game takes everything from 2D and 3D platformers in the industry and refines it to a distilled, perfect, sugar rush. Rayman Legends has the speed and fluidity of Sonic 3, the platforming puzzle layout of Sonic 2, the "Run, something is chasing you" and boss levels of Crash Bandicoot, the infectious music based levels unique only to Rayman in 2013, the smacking and brawling of a 3d Mario game, and the enemy/infectious lum layout that demands precision and skill to pull of a fluid/rewarding path of travel of the Super Mario World or Donky Kong Country games. There is about 20-30 Hrs of gameplay here, if you are not 100% all of the goals in the game. Likely around 30-40 Hrs to experience everything the game has to offer. There's so many smart game design choices in this game. It doesn't waste any time getting you straight to the level screen, laying out its 120 levels (including 40 remastered "greatest hit" levels from its predecessor game Origins, which is also excellent) in a manor that makes it easy to run and jump into and out of different worlds/levels for a quick play session. All of the spins, punching are incorporated into the movement controls of the character, where attacking can actually give very specific momentum or stopping power. Literally leaning your character in a certain direction gives very specific speed boosts to falling, sliding that very few games get right (where it feels you are slightly lessening drag resistance of the air, friction of a platform, not magically changing you character's gravity or trajectory in the game engine). It also provides multiple goals for each world and level, with wild fanfare and visual signifiers to track your progress. Completing goals gives a slot machine like experience of "completion", and unlocks additional skins, new levels, etc, giving a forward momentum to the gameplay encouraging players to replay levels, or get better at the game, without being onerous, or cramming it down the players' throat. I have now played this game to completion on the PS3, PS4, PS Vita, WiiU, and PC via Steam. I can definitively say that the best version of the game is on the PS Vita. It's touch screen and control sticks are a dream to play on, and significantly change/make the Murphy Levels much more enjoyable. The travel of the thumbstick on the PS Vita, and and OLED screen is heaven for this game. Wii U is a close second (touch screen integration again), and Steam is 3rd, but is still an excellent experience, well worth a playthrough. It is really lame that ubisoft took down the servers for the multiplayer challenges. 1. Because these daily and weekly rotating levels were some of the best the game had to offfer for pushing the limits of someone's abilities, and really fun/addictive to play when racing against your friends' and other folks' ghosts. If you played them regularly, you started to become very familiar with the names you were racing against on the leaderboards. 2. Because they kept the 1M lum achievement, which is extremely monotonous to get without the online component. I do applaud Ubi for adding achievements to the game recently on Steam, and being aware enough to strip out the online only achievements that originally came with the game on other platforms, and that are no longer available to the player. For the more adventerous, there is a Training Room Mod that replaces the defunt challenges window that does not work any longer with a room where these online only levels are available again as a single player experience.

✅Very pleasant flow during the game ✅ A bit of challenge ✅ A lot of maps from the Origin version (simplified compared to the original) ✅Daily challenges with the possibility of comparing yourself with the rest of the community ✅beautiful audio-visual setting ✅There is something to maximize ;D ✅ Possibility to play with friends (in normal maps as well as various "party" modes) ✅ chases and more interesting boss fights ✅ nicely designed worlds ✅ music levels and their 8-bit versions are a wonder (especially the one from Eye Of The Tiger) ✅Raids, in which the aim is to complete a given level as quickly as possible ✅ Return to Origins, i.e. several dozen remastered levels from the previous installment ➖ONLY a few music maps (which, admittedly, look brilliant) ➖Requirement to install and create an account on "UPlay" ➖ Cheated "scratch card" mode, an unnecessary gimmick that doesn't introduce anything because the number of prizes (although for finishing the maps) is predefined
