They put gay marriage in this!? It was really good. It feels like a good sendoff to the series, it's nice to see how the characters have grown up. I like that it's a visual novel since it shows everyone getting to be the protagonist and makes a balanced story. If you want to play this game, you really need to watch the anime and the movie for this series first. This game is set after those and assumes you're already familiar with the characters. If you play on steamdeck, the video cutscenes do not play, they just get skipped. I tried changing to different proton ge versions and it did not fix the issue. I ended up just watching the cutscenes on youtube. It wasn't too big of an issue, but it's something to keep in mind. There's only 2 video cutscenes; an opening and an ending. Everything else worked fine on steamdeck. I just had to change the size to fullscreen upon starting the game. Storywise, I think the game was great. The humor especially is some of the best in the series. I will say that the overall story wasn't as good as the anime or the movie, but the anime and especially the movie were already so peak that it would have been hard to top that. I like that the game showed that this whole series never was yuri subtext, it all was outright text. It always was romantic. Every character really is gay, and it's endearing to see. If I were to rate each entry in this series, I'd give this game an 9/10, the anime a 10/10 and the movie an 11/10. I think where the game is a little lacking is that it doesn't have as many magical scenes as the anime/movie. I understand that the characters have grown up and moved on from it, but it would have been nice to see more of it. I think revue starlight's best moments are the revues. But it was nice to play a game that featured a lot more talking in it. I loved hearing the actresses voice all the roles and the different characters, they did a phenomenal job.
