Fun game do recomend. I like fighting. Controls on PC take a while to get use to and there's no tutorial for controls on PC because it's meant to played with a controller but it's not to big of a deal imo.

A fun and fast paced beat em up game with light RPG elements like stat increases and level ups. If you’ve played any of the prior River City games then this one falls in line, just with that WayForward flair and sense of humor. You can beat the absolute mess out of people in this game and it's super satisfying lol. The second game is even better but this one holds a special place in my heart because it was the first game I beat with my son. I also still appreciate the stripped down combat because it requires you to improvise and force your own level of depth into the game (if that makes sense). The music is really catchy too, we listen to the soundtrack all the time. I’ve 100%’d the Steam and Switch port. Both are perfect. No issues.

I bought the sequel when it launched but never played the original. Got it for free on a different platform and played it with my sister, ported my save to steam after buying it here on sale. This one is shorter than the sequel and with shorter combos, but it still has fun characters and interactions. I honestly love these types of co-op beat them ups and hope someday soon they release a third game.
