A pleasant surprise of a game. An overworld like Zelda, but dungeon similar to Moonlighter where you collect gems from the dungeon to power yourself up on death or when completing the dungeon. Not a hard game and you can get overpowered if you dump all in hp and damage but it's still an enjoyable game. A good recommend.

I really enjoyed playing this with my son and daughter on shared screen co-op. We all played with no issues using controllers. The combat is like the old Legend of Zelda Games and so are the puzzles. The hit boxes are little bit wonky, but they're consistently wonky, so you just get used to it; it's not something you can't learn or get used to through playing. The puzzles adapt based on how many players are alive/playing at the time, so you can totally play single player or with up to 3 other friends. Do note that if the players try to look in opposite corners of a large room, the camera will pan out to keep everyone in frame up to a point - nobody is locked/bound by invisible camera borders and the camera doesn't follow one fixed person around. The dungeons are semi-procedurally generated, with room layouts being hand-designed, but the order they're in varies. There's enough variance that you usually don't see repeats until you've done the same dungeon a few times in a row, and even then the game still managed to throw a surprise in after multiple hours of playing. Class stats and skills are upgradeable, and you have to pay to unlock the different shops in the town. When you fail a dungeon, all the gems you carried in there are dropped. The game then tallies up how many gems you found in that dungeon, gives those to you, and sends you back to town with them. This means you don't want to horde gems, but to spend them on upgrades before every dungeon run. It's absolutely possible to upgrade your character to more or less overpower the content. I think the very final boss can't be trivialised through raw power, but he's not a very difficult fight to learn and beat. You can also use potions to heal etc. if you want for the extra help as well. I think most of the negative reviews are about bugs, and I didn't run into any bugs at all while paying local co-op. I think there may be problems playing on-line with people, and if that's the case, just Remote-Play-Together through Steam IMO as a solution if you're having issues. Again, I think people complained of wonky hit boxes, but they're only wonky in the sense of they can sometimes fail to meet expectations - but they are consistent and not buggy/unpredictable.

Picked this up during a Steam sale for $1.99 and honestly? Absolute steal. I grabbed it to play online with a friend, and we’ve been having a blast. It’s a fun little roguelite with charming visuals and solid mechanics that really scratch that classic Zelda itch. The roguelite progression feels super satisfying, especially since it’s brutal early on. But once you start leveling up and unlocking upgrades, the grind pays off, and it’s rewarding to see your character get stronger. There’s a good sense of progression that keeps you wanting “just one more run.” What really stood out for us was the multiplayer design. The camera system is surprisingly smart, it zooms out when you and your teammate wander too far from each other, which helps keep the pace moving instead of locking players to the same area. Teamwork mechanics feel meaningful too, not just tacked on. You actually rely on each other, which adds a nice layer of strategy. If you're looking for something to shake up your co-op routine and you're burnt out on the usual party games, this is a refreshing change. Highly recommend giving it a shot, especially if it’s on sale. Totally worth it.

Multiplayer worked flawlessly for me, it's an old school co-op rpg but you can also play solo. It is fun but the townbuilding is a bit barebones.

I might not have the best perspective, since this is the first rogue-lite I've ever played. (Though I've played hundreds of hours in several handfuls of rogue-likes.) But I really like this game. I like the rogue-liteness, I like the co-op, I like the solo, I like that my kids like me to play it with them.
