The main character, who is a fisherman, is named Rod Ocean. That's like naming a chef Spatula Kitchen. I'm not a gambling man, but I'd be willing to bet a fair amount of money that Rod's parents are extremely brain damaged. Highly recommend.

There are lots of things I like about this game! What you see on the trailers is what you get, an adventure about two friends who travel and save the world by catching fish. The fishing is great, some of the fish have different gimmicks that make the "battles" a challenge and are a fun addition to the experience, the world is big with different islands you can revisit with treasures and things to do, I also like that you can control both characters and each one of them has a role to fulfill in the game, Rod fishes and Axel takes cares of enemies and puzzles & stuff, it really feels like they're on an adventure. The design work is also really good, all Sea'Az (fish and sea creatures) are very unique and have well done pixel sprites. With each catch you get materials to craft fishing rods and hooks, to be honest I was surprised by the quantity of creatures you can catch and the rods you can create. Story is alright I think it could be better but its okay, I had fun, BUT I have to say, translation and localization is rough sometimes, there are times the npcs say things that don't make any sense which can make the scene confusing. Adding to the npcs, most of them only have like 1 or 2 lines for the whole game, I wish they could say more things or tell you about the fish you can catch to add some flavor to the game. Anyway, it's fun fishing game!!! I recommend it!!

Catch a wide variety of Sea'Az to empower yourself against dark forces lurking in the shadows. If you have an affinity for fishing and JRPG classics of old, you may have a great time awaiting you. Sea Fantasy is a brilliant blend of classic open-world RPG structure and simple yet fun fishing mechanics. The story is cute, but nothing outstanding, and the characters are charming although without much depth. In spite of this, the game-play loop hooked into me as if I were the fish the developers were trying to catch all along. For having been developed by such a small team, it's quite the lovely experience. It may not be without flaw, but it makes up for any shortcoming by simply being a fun game.

Contains CodeStage anti-cheat and this is not listed or noted on the store page here. Developer has yet to respond about it and has yet to offer ways to disable it. It makes no sense to have an anti-cheat like this in a SINGLE-PLAYER game that has no competitive aspects, no leaderboards and no micro-transactions. I like the game itself and find it fun, but having an anti-cheat on it is nonsensical. "Cheats" should not matter in a single-player game, when it only affects the one player and no one else. Edit: I have long since beaten the game and am changing it to positive for now, because I liked and enjoyed the gameplay very much. (Even though it gave me temporary arthritis in my thumbs with all the constant tapping to fish, lol.) The story was very simplistic and leaves a lot to be desired, though. The dialogue could certainly be better. I am now eagerly awaiting and anticipating the upcoming expansion. HOWEVER... I still find the CodeStage anti-cheat to be completely UNACCEPTABLE for a solely single-player game like this. So my criticism of that still stands.

This game was made for anyone who just wants to play the fishing minigames in RPGs, but have that be the main “combat” mechanic. Story is easy to follow, gameplay is quick and the OST has a nice old JRPG feel. Pleasantly surprised at how well balanced the progression was. Fish in new areas felt like a challenge and upgraded rods were worthwhile to grind for. Gimmick fish and bosses had neat mechanics to change up the usual gameplay.
