super fun pick up and play. puts a innovative twist on the wave survival genre. definitely one of those hidden gems on steam. highly recommend grabbing it for the low price

It's okay for the price, although I'm obligated to mention the OG Vampire Survivors is $5, and I feel it has more to offer than this game does - Which, while yes, It's a high bar to reach, you come to expect vast expansions upon the idea you're basing a game on If you're charging more for it. The pirate theme is whimsical, and the game itself has a few cool ideas that helps set it apart as a slight deal more than a simple Vampire Survivors clone - There's a bit of flavorful content and items/upgrades to discover, and for 7 bucks, that's fine enough for me, but I don't think It's something I'm compelled to spend dozens of hours on It doesn't have that addictive charm Vampire Survivors and certain other inspirations have. My biggest gripes are that; [*] Weapons are pretty weak, with melee weapons being kind of useless in my opinion. Combat isn't satisfying. [*] Movement is sluggish and awkward in that you control the ship in slow, large, winding curves [*] It's quite easy to take damage in this game compared to other survivor-likes, not because of direct difficulty, but because of the things I stated before, and your hitbox is long and typically not fast enough to avoid the enemies chasing you. [*] Upgrades feel very negligible, and build archetypes feel samey. [*] Content trickles pretty slowly. Regardless, I feel the game is just barely cheap enough to where I'd say It's worth a try if you enjoy survivor-likes. Maybe wait for a sale.

A cute take on the survivors/bullet hell genre. I love how its ship based, which gives a different element to it. Though I have to say controlling it with the keyboard/mouse is a little weird. But nothing game breaking. The way you build out abilities is nice and unique and adds to the overall flare of the game. I think my only request is for some sort of actual narrative or something to give each run its own flavor.

i love this spin on the survivor-like genre. The game fully embraces the pirate theme in every aspect and I love it. I think the game has excellent controls/movment with everything feeling super smooth, and its all packaged into a great setting with fantastic and fun combat...BUT it is extremely lacking in "stuff." I would say content but I dunno I just feel like the proper content is there it's just there not near enough of it. OKAY fine yes, it needs more CONTENT. I would like to see different ships, crewmates that were more interesting or did something more than what they do; I want to be able to change my FLAG and maybe the sail types and maybe some sort of mast? or stern? idol. The thing on the front of the ship that's often times a mermaid or skeleton. Maybe some cooler permanent stuff to do to you- the capatain. Just... there's so much stuff that can be added here relatively easily imo. Honestly, the game is fun and charming but its just lacking in content and too easy. I beat the final timer boss with two curses on like my 4th run and I only actually died once. The boss that killed me once actually was just a map boss so maybe I need to explore more. Still, I would love to see all the stuff I mentioned. With only the items that are storable in the hull as upgrades it feels kind of shallow. I love that by itself but I feel it isnt near enough. I fully recommend the game but Im hoping they do a lot of what I mentioned. I honestly have zero idea whats on the horizon for the game so im just throwing out ideas of what I would do... Buy the game- preferably on sale but its still worth it.
