The best Privateer and Pirate game that i have ever played. You can play as a Privateer and work for your chosen faction or engage in high seas Piracy by attacking everyone including the faction that gave you a letter of marque. You can also recreate Henry Morgan's 1671 sacking of Panama. The game does well in finding the balance between fun and history(thank god there is no scurvy and syphilis lol)

I have been playing this game since back in the 90s when it first came out. It has always been a favorite of mine. When I saw steam had it I quickly purchased it as it was a no brainer. This game is straight from the orignal game, pixels and same writing. NOTHING has changed, but that is the full charm of this game in my opinion. Very easy to learn, but takes hours and hours to master. There are several levels from beginer to very hard based on which time frame you pick to run your ship through. If you like pirates, historical based games and nostalgic games I would HIGHLY recommend you try this game.

This is the best pirate game i have ever played. I wish they would remaster or remake this with updated graphics and some new feature but largely remain the same. Its WELL worth the $9.99. Id pay $60 for this if i had to.

There's really not much to say about this game. It's old, a bit clunky, but it's also a lot of fun to play. It's been a favourite of mine for decades, since I played it on an old commodore back in the late 1980's. Yes, I'm that old! There are more challenging and graphically superior pirate games around, and they're worth playing. But so is this one, because it's simply enjoyable, and I have a bit of a binge on it every so many years. So if you're a bit young at heart, or just like simple adventure, treat yourself.

Still one of the greatest pirate games of all times. Truly this is the model that they should continue to base this genre of games off of. If they came out with an updated version of this game no doubt it would be a success. From ship battles, to sieges, Even the semi-unpopular dancing mini game. Sid Meier's Pirates! will go on to live in Infamy. Highest praise.
