100/10. The atmosphere is SO well done in this game, it really feels like you're all alone at the bottom of the ocean. Some moments really gave me Alien vibes in the best way. And the sound design is delicious.

Overall a good and fair game that is worth both the full price and the experience. Now, to get into details, for the curious ones. SILT presents itself mostly as a surreal, puzzle, adventure and atmospheric game and stays true to this tag list, doing a very good job checking each aspect. The setting of a dark submerged ancient alien world, populated by marine creatures, some resembling real creatures while others being completely alien, a few of them being quite deadly to the player does a very good job at painting the atmosphere and surrealism . Choosing to deliver this world in black and white is just chef's kiss and underlines even more the overall mystery. The puzzles themselves are quite satisfying, leaning less on reflexes, coordination and execution and more on using your brain and exploiting the abilities this game provides from the beginning. As a plus, many puzzles are unique and they rely very little on repetition, thus creating a balanced and enjoyable flow of the game. Getting the vast majority of the achievements for this game is very easy because they naturally come while playing the game, the hardest one being finishing the game whole without ever dying which should come easy once the game has been finished once. Thus, for OCD achievement hunters, this game provides easy prey. Now, I couldn't help but notice quite a few strong influences from other games such as Limbo, Inside and Antichamber: [*] The section in which you have to feed the birds which are immobile and stuck in the tree with white worms that attach themselves to your head is incredibly similar to Limbo's mechanic of having a worm stuck to your head and finding a nest of weird critters to eat it off you . [*] The section in which you are chased by the underwater worms, only to lead them into a trap, letting them being eaten by bigger static worms is very similar to INSIDE's section in which you are underwater and followed by the underwater creature, in both terms of mechanics and soundtrack. Especially the soundtrack . [*] Every time you kill a boss and are in that section inside the giant mechanism, leaving its consciousness/essence/soul whatever inside the disk with the image is using Antichamber's sound whenever the black cube is seen and passes by . I am not mentioning these observations as if it's a bad thing, just that this game draws inspiration from previous other games from the market. This is not the first, and I suspect it won't be the last, game to draw inspiration from LIMBO and INSIDE, two titans of this particular set of tags. In terms of replayability however, this game is not it. I could see very few reasons why someone would replay this game unless they wish to collect the hardest achievement, they REALLY enjoyed the experience or a few years passed and wish to re-experience it once again. Besides that, this game generally is a play-once-and-move-on kind of game which, given the pros mentioned earlier, is not necessarily a bad thing. Just a feature. The cons are very very little. The movement is a bit clunky occasionally, depending on the room the player is in, and occasionally, the teleportation ability of the teleportation stingray doesn't work properly, requiring a few more tries , but none of these is immersion breaking or fun spoiling.

Silts gameplay and art style is just so beautiful and engaging in it's own unique way. If you like games like Limbo, Inside or and of the Little Nightmares series you would 100% like this game. The puzzles were super fun to play through and I love the concept of being able to turn into different aquatic animals that each have there own abilities that can help beat each puzzle. All four bosses were also super fun to fight against because each of them had a different way you had to beat them. Every character had really neat designs too.

First, the bad: playing the game with a keyboard and without mouse support is quite annoying. But at least the game is pretty short, so it was tolerable for me. And now the good: the atmosphere, the hand drawn art and the sound design are amazing, a bit like "Limbo" but underwater and less challenging. There is not much story or narrative but in my opinion, it's still very worthwhile to dive into this dark and strange world full of bizarre creatures and ancient machinery. It wouldn't have been worth the full price for me, but you can certainly pick it up in a sale for a few bucks.

It took me way too long to finally play this game, and OMG — it’s genuinely one of the most beautiful and best games I’ve played in a very long time. The music and atmosphere are breathtaking, and the overall experience feels so immersive. It can be quite challenging at times, but it’s still super approachable no matter your experience level. Every moment feels rewarding, and the world just pulls you in completely. I honestly can’t recommend it enough. Pro tip: play with headphones — the sound design is phenomenal and a huge part of what makes this game so special.
