It’s a good game with a simple concept: finding out where Anna, the main character, is. However, several aspects feel underdeveloped. First, the phone contains a lot of information, but only about 10% of it is actually useful. I understand that real-life information can be messy, but in a game, I expect those details to serve a purpose. This may come down to personal preference, but it was a big disappointment for me. Second, the story isn’t as deep as I expected. Only a few characters are involved, and considering this is a visual novel, I was expecting more depth and character development. Finally, the game includes mysterious sounds, such as knocking, that seem to lead nowhere. They make you curious about what they mean, but ultimately feel pointless. Well, the concept is interesting, but too many details feel underused or abandoned. I think the game could have been much better with a deeper story, more meaningful clues, and better-written dialogue. PS I still give a positive review as I feel the game deserves it, but I won't confidently recommend it.
A pretty unique game with a really good concept, unfortunately I found the execution pretty mediocre. The story was okay, but the conclusion was pretty unsatisfying. The gameplay also started to get repetitive around halfway through the game and the same goes for the scares. The dialogue was okayish, but could be pretty cringy and clunky at times and the acting was honestly pretty bad. I still had some fun with the game but I hope the second game improves on some of the problems I had with this one.
This is definitely a game you play only a couple of times, but when you do it's long and great. The overall lore that makes up the game is extremely interesting in my opinion, and the careful framing of character interactions and their definitions make them memorable overall. My personal favorite part was hunting for all the endings and secret easter eggs. Only thing that I didn't really like was the lack of save points. Endings are arguably the most important parts of the game, yet you are forced to restart from the very beginning after getting an ending. This can be a bit frustrating when you chose the wrong option and got an ending that you already have. The game does give you a faster experience where the text goes faster after achieving your first ending, however I feel like a save point would make more sense in this case.
Such a creative horror game! A phone is left on your doorstep. Like the kind stranger you are, you unlock it to start looking for the owner, but it becomes obvious really quickly that something is wrong... This game is great because it hooks you right from the start, but it has some flaws. The good things first: The story is very interesting. The entire mystery of where anna is and why the phone is doing the stuff its doing is captivating. Having to puzzle together stuff like passwords from info on the phone is fun, and the athmosphere when playing with headphones is also great, the ambience noises like knocking or someone breathing down your neck all of a sudden sound so realistic It starteled me a few times. Multipe endings also give it replayability. Now the bad. While for the most part the game does not rely on jumpscares it has some. Not the worst thing, but it jumpscares feel cheap compared to the rest of the atmosphere. The acting. Idk if it was supposed to feel so campy, but it really did (an exeption here would be the simulacra. I really enjoyed the voice acting for it . And last but not least the characters. You will mostly be interacting with 2 guys, Greg, who is a absolute ♥♥♥♥, and Tylor, who is less bad then Greg but still a creep. Other characters show up but more breifly, so those two are your main "companions". This is fine for the most part, you basically work with them for the greater good to find Anna, but what kind of pissed me off was that you HAVE to be nice to Taylor and trust him to unlock the only good ending. This guy is NOT trustworthy Still had a BLAST with it and would reccomend playing it!
