Now THIS is what I'm talking about. This has the makings of a truly great game, and I had a great time playing it. Highlights: - Real voice acting, and a super silly and fun story that I found to be quite charming - Well made roguelite system with super cool upgrades that feel genuinely rewarding - Decent variety in attacks, mob types and exploration boons - Nice aesthetics and atmosphere - Good difficulty balancing Bugs: - Going into the wormhole on chaos mode caused the screen to go dark and I was unable to complete my run because of this, which sucked because I was doing so well. - The refresh system is bugged. With high luck & reroll refunds, you can get infinite refreshes because the number goes up instead of sometimes not being deducted. - The fire rate measurements in the armory make no sense. Somehow a higher time means faster fire rate. Change this, please. - Mobs can get stuck on in-game objects, instead of pathfinding around them. - Autofire seems to somehow stop you from being able to interact with quest mechanisms during the story. - After leaving a void portal my character got stuck because miniboss walls formed and did not go away. - Applying augments and then backing out does not update the augment status, and the combo exp underwear says "20x" instead of "2x" at its last augment Things that didn't satisfy: - Add more content, of course. I really liked watching the story progress. But it does feel quite unfinished still. - Firearm upgrades are costly and incremental, and it would be nice to be able to refund them to try out other guns. It's a conflict of interest when you invest so heavily into a single gun to make it OP, but then you get a shiny new one you want to try out. Maybe offer an option to scrap the gun upgrades for a % of credits returned? - It wasn't obvious enough to me that you could only choose 3 colored sodas. So for one round I wasted my alterations. - Bosses are too easy, if you are able to beat the normal mob types leading up to them, then you essentially have nothing to worry about. In short this is already a roguelite better than most. It would benefit from completion and polishing, though.

As the titular Sodaman—a hypercharged combatant who wields soda flavors like elemental forces—you’re tasked with mowing down swarms of strange enemies, collecting upgrades, and crafting unstoppable combinations of weapons and carbonated powers. From the beginning, it’s clear the game is built around momentum: every run pushes players toward quick decision-making, experimentation, and gleefully reckless destruction. The heart of Sodaman lies in its build-crafting system. Borrowing familiar ideas from both roguelikes and bullet-heaven shooters, the game lets you choose weapons, stack soda types, and attach augment cards that drastically alter your capabilities. Sodas act as a kind of elemental system, with each flavor offering unique bonuses—chain lightning bursts, explosive dashes, knockback waves, and more. Mixing sodas together unlocks hybrid powers, giving runs a sense of escalating chaos that grows with each pickup. Because weapons, sodas, and augments interact in unpredictable ways, every attempt feels different.
