I got curious about this game because of its soundtrack. So many bangers, so what do they play over? The answer is the most delicious action platformer I've played in a long, *long* time. The controls are easy to pick up, and extremely rewarding to learn the ins and outs of. The level design is spectacular, once i realized that i really dont need to be joshing to play fast and get good times i had insane amounts of fun exploring the levels as i went. No need to get caught up on missing something that's behind me, there's the same amount of alternate routes, skilled shortcuts, and cheeky rewards for pushing boundaries with your powerups ahead tenfold. The art is beautiful, every level and character you meet are distinct, and none of the level gimmicks feel annoying or too forgettable. I've just finished the first story, and im pumped to see what else is in store!! (having listened to the soundtrack a bunch, i did get excited to hear the "special boss" jingle at unlocking Fark's story. that song goes so fucking hard)

This game was a lot better than I thought going in, and I was already looking forward to playing it after looking for something to scratch the action-platformer itch. It is genuinely one of the most fun and unique 2D platformers I've played that sells you in on the spectacle (the music especially is awesome). It is rather buggy, performance is spotty, and the levels can go on a bit too long for my taste, but the gameplay, the presentation, and the story its telling makes up so much on whats to offer along with great replay value.

As someone that loves the Sonic series and has checked out Lake Feperd's Sonic fangames a while back, this game far exceeds what he's done in the past (and even gets close to rivaling what SEGA has done, which is very impressive). The controls feel great when you get used to the physics and the plethora of abilities Spark has, the level design is all-around solid and have a lot to them, the combat is surprisingly decent, and it's got a fantastic soundtrack as per usual. However, I didn't really care for the story and the art could look a little better at points, but I feel like the positives of this game FAR exceeds the negatives, so it makes the slight blemishes almost non-existent to my eyes. A great game that's one of the most rewarding platformers I've mastered!

This game is reaall fun and a really good kick off for Lake's career as a game dev! There were admittedly a few problems here like how hard the game got by then end, one sloppily designed enemy by then, and a few bugs, like how the Sunburn Forest music stopped looping and how I wasn't able to enter the pause screen, but those are small mishaps seen in an otherwise amazing game that I wish more people knew about, and that goes with all of the non-sonic projects Lake has made over the years.
