This game is great trooper! I played the campaign non-stop until a beat it all. I hear there are still more DLCs on the way. You apes wanna live forever! Join the fight and do your part. The only good bug is a dead bug. But for real the game is full of bugs and it is great. On the bounce trooper. Make Johnny Rico proud!

Bottom Line Up Front (Overall 8 /10) - A simple, yet fun game worthy of investment. Probably the best game representation of the Starship Troopers universe yet - Plays more of a Real Time Tactics than a Real Time Strategy game - Excellent artistic style and game environment really shines - Easy at first then the missions get challenging past Mission 5 - Very basic base building mechanics - Lacking features of most modern RTT / RTS games such as a 360 degree camera, skirmish mode and multiplayer Developers, if this game had multiplayer, skirmish, 360 degree camera and the ability to play bugs this game would be a masterpiece. Gameplay Loop (6/10) - Only giving this score based on the fact that there are 2 DLCs at the moment and there is a lack of skirmish and multiplayer - Few mission varieties but it suits the game universe - Campaign is nice and lengthy especially with the DLCs - Achievements are not difficult to obtain but definitely a good challenge in some missions. Might need a few replays to succeed Gameplay Mechanics (7/10) - Very few controls to learn the game - Some units will not conduct their special ability on first click (most prominent one is engineers using the demo ability) - Needs some unit micromanagement (sight lines and unit special abilities) to be efficient in a mission but it is not tedious Presentation (8/10) - Excellent artistic style and eye candy - Some of the unit explanations can benefit with a rotatable unit model when you view their stats - Captures the vibe of the Federation very well - Little to no glitches, gameplay or graphical bugs Sound (6/10) - Some gunfire sounds could be a bit more punchy - Some arachnid sounds could also use a bit more volume to convey presence - Voice acting is bearable and relevant How this can be a 10/10 game / Developer wishlist - Introduce the arachnids as a playable faction - Introduce Multiplayer - Introduce Skirmish - Introduce a 360 degree camera Specs Intel I5 13500K RTX4070Ti 80 GB DDR4 RAM SSD Samsung 4K TV 60 FPS Game is on the highest graphical settings with VSYNC ON - consistent 60 FPS no issues

The game's main campaign mode is up there next to Company of Heroes 1 & StarCraft II campaign for me in terms of how much fun it is. There aren't many RTS games with good campaign and Starship Troopers is a breath of fresh air after so many years.

A Starship troopers strategy game that does precisely what you would expect. It even surprised me a little. While the game may not tactically be complicated, it's focus is more on you as a player making sure you have your force consistently set up for a wave of bugs. I selected the difficulty below maximum and it feels just about right. The idea is to keep a consistent firing line so that your units can absorb a wave of bugs at any moment, because if you leave a gap, about 6 bugs can take out one unit in less than 10 seconds, once one goes down it can snow ball and within a minute your whole force could be at risk of being wiped out so retreating before it's too late is something you'll have to judge very quickly. The unfortunate part about the campaign are the 'tunnel/cave' missions. They feel very uninteresting compared to the other missions. As the campaign progresses the mission get more consistent and fun but those early tunnel missions grind the gameplay to a hault when compared to the levels where you'll have to face hundreds of bugs at once. The price seems just about right too but I would recommend getting the DLC on sale as that does feel like it should be included in the game. Never the less, the game does what you want and the developers did a great job keeping the gameplay in focus. It's not a lazy cash grab nor filled with any glitches, it does just what you want.

Always wanted a Starship troopers game, never knew I'd see it as a rts. This is definitely a must buy. They pull units from multiple movies and bugs I've never see before into this game. It's equal parts challenging and fun, with each mission feeling different from the last and introducing you to each unit type in succession. If you're severely lacking in "C'MON YOU APES! YOU WANNA LIVE FOREVER?!?" buy this game!
