I don't think I've ever seen an RTS game capture the spirit of an older movie as well as this game has. Would you like to know more?

The game started out as a decent RTS that I was obligated to buy as a fan of the movie... not movieS, MOVIE :) But the strategy is deep, you can TURTLE and defend, my preferred method or run and gun! Both of which can be costly if you have no clue. But the point is, you can make BOTH work with decent strategical choices, which is so rare for this type of game. Its not a steep learning curve, and the unit choices are not set in stone if you want to win... you can chose the units that appeal to you, and can make them work with decent strategy... which is SO much fun to figure out... its not a strict "rock-paper-scissors" scenario, and you are not PUNISHED for turtling up while you see what your units can do. You can set up a firing-line and mow down HUNDREDS of bugs while you sort out what to do next if you are smart... SOOOOO satisfying when you get it right... Iv'e been with these guys since the beginning, and they've never stopped updating.. this is a true labor of love... not just UNIT updates, but campaigns, play mechanics and even game modes! They've pulled me away from Total War... which I would never have though possible... :) FAAAzzziOOO!!!! Like magic... But seriously... if you are a fan of the RTS genre, its fun as H*LL! But... if you are a Starship Troopers fan, there is nothing CLOSE to this and you will replay over and over and over because you are HOME. And they don't charge a PENNY for all these updates! I almost forgot to give them my LOVE for that! THAT'S how spoiled they have made me... I would have easily spent the hundreds of dollars I've spent on other games to get the content they have slaved over to release for free... I will buy any other game they release JUST because of the player love they shown for this game. Good onya devs. Just finished the 10th? 20th? ... I don't even KNOW the number of playthroughs anymore... difficulties, methods, challenges.... and then started the Territory mode ... its like an entirely NEW GAME!! For NO DLC cost... WHO TF are you guys? You've released HUNDREDS of dollars of content for no additional cost since the start... Labor of love.. and it shows... I need to stop, there comes a point where it looks fan-boi... guilty! loL! EDIT: OH!!! And the amount of activity in the community is jaw-dropping... they have generated enough QUALITY content to play ON TOP of the core game to last indefinitely! This content ranges from single, one-off's to multi scenario campaigns... there is no equal to this game as far as content goes... the only community I can think of that comes close is the Stellaris devs/community.. .but you pay through the NOSE for that DLC... just showing love to the community creators, you are all amazing, apologies for not including in original review!

From the very first mission, Starship Troopers: Terran Command nails the Starship Troopers aesthetic. The environments — dusty deserts, mining colonies, and bleak frontier outposts — evoke the movie’s satirical depiction of humanity’s expansionist future. Between missions, the game uses faux propaganda broadcasts and recruitment ads that perfectly mimic the film’s “ Would you like to know more? ” tone, blending dark humor with militaristic fervor. This attention to atmosphere makes every campaign feel like a small episode in the endless war against the Bugs. The story is presented through mission briefings and voiceovers rather than cinematic cutscenes, but it still conveys the harsh, hierarchical world of the Terran Federation . You’re not the hero — you’re a cog in the military machine, executing orders and making sure your troopers die “for the cause.” Starship Troopers: Terran Command plays as a real-time tactics game rather than a base-building RTS. There’s no resource harvesting or building construction. Instead, you capture control points, manage limited reinforcements, and try to hold your lines against massive Bug swarms. This focus on positioning and fire discipline feels fitting for the setting: a small, disciplined human army facing a relentless alien tide. Infantry are the backbone of your force, ranging from standard rifle squads to rocket troopers, engineers, and snipers. Each unit type serves a clear tactical purpose — riflemen suppress, rocketeers clear clusters, and engineers set up MG turrets or flamethrowers for choke points. The key to victory lies in terrain control and firing arcs: if your units are flanked or surrounded, they die quickly. The game emphasizes line-of-sight and elevation advantages, rewarding players who think defensively and anticipate where the Bugs will break through. The mission design is one of Starship Troopers: Terran Command ’s strongest aspects. Scenarios vary from desperate last stands to large-scale offensives across Bug-infested colonies. Some missions require capturing specific objectives, while others challenge you to defend extraction zones or escort convoys through hostile territory. The tension builds steadily, often culminating in massive, cinematic bug assaults that test your ability to manage limited manpower under pressure. Graphically, the game is functional rather than flashy. The environments are detailed enough to be immersive, though textures and models are modest by modern standards. What sells the atmosphere is the lighting, unit animations, and large-scale battles that fill the screen with chaos. Watching hundreds of Arachnids swarm over ridges toward your soldiers never loses its thrill. Starship Troopers: Terran Command succeeds as a faithful and atmospheric RTS that captures the essence of the film’s militarized satire. Its strategic gameplay, clever mission design, and relentless sense of pressure make it a standout title for fans of tactical combat. However, the lack of multiplayer, limited strategic depth, and repetitive combat loops keep it from achieving greatness. A tough, engaging, and thematically spot-on RTS that will delight fans of the franchise — as long as you’re ready to serve the Federation and fight the Bug menace to the bitter end. 7/10 DISASTER | BAD | MEDIOCRE | OKAY | GOOD | GREAT |AMAZING| MASTERPIECE Reviewed on: Win11 Home 64-bit, Intel i5-11600K, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7, 32GB DDR4-3600 RAM, 2 x Kingston NV1 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, Internet Broadband 1000/1000 Mbit If you like this review, then please consider giving it a thumbs up. Definitely a fun RTS, but it needs more...sound effects? It needs sound effects for soldiers marching, marauder mechs walking, fighter jets and bombers flying overhead, etc.

This game is great trooper! I played the campaign non-stop until a beat it all. I hear there are still more DLCs on the way. You apes wanna live forever! Join the fight and do your part. The only good bug is a dead bug. But for real the game is full of bugs and it is great. On the bounce trooper. Make Johnny Rico proud!
