Oct. 2025
This game doesn’t just tell you about love it shows you how people grow, how they break, and how even small choices can change everything. A simple otome turned out to be a story full of emotion, reflection, and human nature. Cyrus, the main character, is someone many people misunderstand. If you look at her story closely, it makes sense why she changes. She starts as a noble girl who knows nothing beyond kindness and justice, living under the strict rule of the temple. Then, everything falls apart her promotion is canceled, her engagement breaks off, her parents are murdered, and she’s sent to the depths as a criminal. Anyone would crumble under that, but she still tries to live and move forward. That’s the message I love most, if you stay stuck in the past, you’ll only get the bad ending but if you move forward, you’ll find hope. Elt’s route, honestly? There wasn’t much chemistry. He’s sweet, sure, but being a womanizer makes me question his sincerity. I skimmed through most of his endings the only one that really caught my heart was the one where Fin “takes” me. Strangely, I preferred Elt’s normal ending maybe because Saint Yune appears there? His happy ending was nice too, mostly because he finally stood up for himself. Now, Ulrik… I had high hopes after seeing everyone call him “best boy,” but halfway through his route, I started to feel disappointed. Early on, I actually interacted more with Elt than Ulrik. It even felt like Ulrik saved me not because he cared deeply, but because Elt said I was special. Maybe there was some care there, but it was clear his bond with Elt mattered more. I wanted more sweet, romantic moments with Ulrik. Elt had far more bonding scenes, even with Cyrus! I still can’t believe we got so many beautiful CGs with Elt but barely anything for Ulrik. His route felt shorter, and even his normal ending was sad while Elt somehow gets a happy one every time. Unfair. Some people said Adage’s ending was “just about killing,” but I don’t see it that way. I actually liked it, even though I expected a more dramatic plot twist about why Cyrus was sent to the depths. When you think about it, though humans are such mysterious beings. Sometimes, there doesn’t need to be a huge twist, just understanding their emotions is enough. seriously, what was that, Adage?! He was waiting for Cyrus to come back, and then—bam! That sudden shift in emotion caught me completely off guard. Still, I loved their exchanges, especially the ending with Ines. It felt abrupt, yes, but I liked the little detail that Cyrus knows how to cook, and the parallel from “I’ll devote my life to you” to “Why don’t you devote your life to me?” That line hit me hard. But then again Adage took care of us It was the only time I didn’t feel anxious about danger or survival no hounds nearby, no stress about what to eat next. Ines... I felt so alone at the start of his route just waiting for him to come. Doing his route right after finishing Adage’s made me miss having someone by my side all the time. I don’t have much to say , but I liked all his endings especially the happy one, mostly because Fin was there. (We also got justice here) Fin’s route really struck me. Seeing the contrast between his versions the innocent boy versus the darker “Hound” side was painful yet fascinating. Many people prefer his yandere side, but for me, that Fin already had his ending. The route where he’s living in the Sanctuary District showed another side of him quiet, broken, but still human. It left me imagining what could have been, and I love that feeling of bittersweet possibility. And maybe now I understand why Sachen took a liking to Fin. They’re similar in a way both timid souls who were twisted by circumstances, turning toward darkness. Then there’s Yune (I PLAYED HIM LAST). His route wrecked me emotionally in the best way. I didn’t expect to cry so much. There’s something about his voice and how he carries himself that feels sacred, fitting for a saint. His story had the justice Cyrus deserved(In the bad ending though....). The fact that he reformed the entire system for her, changing the country itself, made me love him even more. He’s not just a love interest, he’s a symbol of hope and change. Yune is, without question, best man. The more I played, the more I realized this isn’t your usual otome game. It’s not just about romancen it’s about people, choices, and the mystery of being human. The way it shows multiple perspectives makes every character feel real. And the voice acting? Amazing. You can even hear how their tones change as the story progresses especially Adage and Fin. It’s such a subtle detail, but it adds so much depth. One thing I noticed right away is how the voice acting subtly changes as you progress through each route. When you first meet Adage, his voice sounds almost robotic calm, collected, a little distant. But the more time you spend with him, the more emotion starts to seep through. It’s such a small detail, yet it completely changes how you see him. The same goes for Fin, his tone changes the most noticeably. You can really hear the emotional shifts as you get closer to each character. I love the little visual details red in the Bodyguard route, green in the Warder route. In Yune it's violet. Those subtle touches really make me appreciate the effort put into this game. By the end, I found myself reflecting on the message that keeps repeating throughout the routes: don’t be trapped by the past. Move forward. Every character carries this theme differently, but they all lead you to the same truth growth comes from pain, and happiness is something you choose. I didn’t expect to find something so profound in an otome game. But here I am, moved beyond words. Yune and Fin best men, both.

TLDR; highly recommend for romance+storytelling i highly highly recommend this one for beginner otome fans and seasoned alike.. a classic with fun storytelling and a unique steampunk premise - similar to code realize! pros [*]fully voiced (amazing va's) [*]really interesting plotline [*]MC felt unique [*]fun dynamic between characters! [*]variety of choices (lovecatch symbol!) [*]good amount of playtime cons [*]fin's route locked behind a DLC [*]some parts of the romance felt slightly forced? [*]quite a bit of filler so many good things to say about this game, worth the price if you have the money, and better if its discounted, my favourite line of all time: pasta is a deeply sexual dish yeah. this was really said. my only qualm about this game is the fact fin's route is locked behind a DLC - which sure can be justified but when the game is bought on the NS the fin route is already included, which is a shame, but i also do recommend the DLC!

An enjoyable otome game, which if I was to put on a tier list it would be at around B tier. There are better games out there on PC and on switch. The concept was interesting but wansn't fully realised. I also felt that some to the romance felt forced. I enjoyed Elt route because he is just hilarious. His interactions with Ulrik were the best part of the game.

Don't buy with high expectations. Fun setting, pretty art, but mediocre story. My attention waned in and out in each route. Most of the characters' personality and development did not make sense. I felt that the romance progressed unnaturally. I purchased the Fin DLC and was underwhelmed. However I did enjoy the idea of the story, and overall it was fun to skim through. Favorite route was Ines purely because he's my type.
