This is the greatest scratch for that "I need a Solo OSRS Game" EVER! It's the closest thing I've ever stumbled upon, and I can't thank SplatCat enough for making his videos on it. 100% Recommend.

I was curious about this game because I really liked Ultima Online and quite enjoyed Runescape but I don't enjoy PvP and bots stealing all your resources. I also really enjoy leveling up all kind of skills, MMORPG with crafting where you can do everything if you want to like FF14. The description of the game does not lie, it's a singleplayer version of those old MMORPG but with some twists. It is not clunky on purpose, at least as it is now as I'm writing this. Inventory is limited but you can easily have bags and a packhorse a couple hours in the game. Also easy access to different teleportation spells. Early on it's like those classic MMORPG, click once and let the auto attack finish the enemy but you'll unlock some abilities over time either by leveling the skills and buying traits or by buying and finding books and combat will be a bit more involved. One session I'll be working on my crafts, another on some quests, another exploring around the map, another on doing the "hunting achievements". The magic of this game is that beside some areas locked behind the main quest, you can do everything at your own pace.

One day, I was thinking about RuneScape, a game I loved. I started searching the internet for games that would be like Runescape. I found a post on Reddit that said The Black Grimoire: Cursebreaker was like offline Runescape. I went to the Steam page, and a review said it was basically offline Runescape. I played through the Demo and thought "Oh wow, this is offline Runescape." 50+ hours in and I'm loving it and yes, this is very much like offline Runescape. From the graphics to the skills, this scratches a nostalgia itch for sure. This is absolutely worth your money if you want to play a game that's like RS. I will give a heads up on some of the things that I don't like about it, but none of these are deal breakers for me, just annoyances. 1. The Combat is Harder It doesn't always feel like it's an even match when you're at an even level. Some enemies seem to have attacks/abilities that hit like a truck, and some quest monsters seem to hit above their weight class. The world is also smaller, so it felt like I was running into combat that was too hard a bit quicker than I would've liked given how much exploring I was doing (especially in quests). Aggressive monsters are always aggressive no matter how much higher your level is. If you're used to RS combat, where you can quickly heal by eating food, it may take a while for you to get used to healing in this game. Most food is healing over time, while health potions are the way to get instant healing, and start out pretty low per dose. A lot of healing also takes a second to activate - as opposed to being an instant click - which means you can cancel it if you're too quick. There are more ways to heal though; multiple healing spells plus potions and food. 2. Drop Rates Are Too Low for Some Items (but this can be improved with some light modding) Cows and sheep don't give a 100% drop rate for leather, wool, and sheepskin. When you get to Level 10+ in Smithing, Tailoring, and Crafting, you will need some secondary items beyond wood and ingots, which are not a guaranteed drop from their respective monsters. Those monsters can also be a bit higher in level than when you are ready for them if you're leveling up skills rather equally. There is a way to change drop rates by opening up game files with a text editor. 3. Fast Travel Isn't My Favorite Gaining ways to teleport around doesn't seem as easy or straightforward as it was in RS or OSRS. There's only 6 teleport spells you can learn. Sometimes it seems like the best way to expand your teleportation network is to buy houses and get scrolls of homecoming, which are easier to buy than they are to craft. You can also unlock portals and canoe fast travel, but for some villages/locations it seems like the best option is "teleport here and then walk there."

A very Runescape-like game with a bit more focus on story. It does inherit much of the mechanics i personally love about Runescape: - Lots of gameplay involves around skils and raising them - Inventory/Bank system that keeps the player involved around what to pick up/take with you at a time. - Simple but very rewarding combat system and character progression - Monsters with loot tables where you always going to try to hunt down those rarer or special drops :) Most importantly it is dodging the worst sides of Runescape or any mmorpg basically: - Not going to be confronted with cheaters or thousands of bots - No forced pvp to get the really good pve stuff - No griefing - No overfarmed areas, monsters or spawncamping in general - No feeling of visiting a funfair when thousand and thousands of other players are doing the exact same thing you do So if youre looking for an offline Runescape, this is the exact game you always wanted! Thank you devs for creating this game even if it might be very niche!

Absolutely insane value for the price.... Seriously we gamers are spoiled by devs like this. You know a game is good when it feels like an onion that each layer you peel back is just better and better. I PRAY these devs keep going and doing what they are doing. What a gem.
