wow, this Bus simulator is really well done. The ingame menus feel sweet and nice and easy to use. The tutorial could use a small adjustment example how do we program the bus computer and assign a route. It was actually pretty easy once i found out. Clickc the start button on the display and the page will popup. MY my first contract was kind of a failure since i somehow did not figure the above out in the first try. So i desided to just drive anyway to see the city and restart my career game next time when i had more time to play. I like that you can adjusted the in game difficulty settings and by default it start on arcade. In arcade mode the bus have automatic gear and the doors auto open and auto close at bus stops. You can even adjust each setting individual and configure the dififculty as you like. That is nice. I must say the bus drive really nice and you can click all buttons and some stuff can even be automated such as open / close the doors. The game world is big and really beautifull and well done, and so far even the traffic feel spot on not to much and not to little. For gameplay reasons im glad there are not 100m of traffic but that there are fewer cars but i still feel im in the center of a big city with lots of traffic and light crossings. I like how the simulator feel and function and you can even have your own firm. The tiny bit i played it yet i feel like this is a really good serious bus simulator game and i look forward playing more in the future. Without having tried all bus simulators on the market then i must say this is a really good one that i can highly recommend. ps. Several players report the game have performance issues. Personaly i had 0 problems it run super smooth in rainy weather. But i also have a high end pc. As someone who loves buses, this game is one of the best bus sims out there. The attention to detail on the vehicles and city environment is nice, and driving through Berlin almost feels real. I really love how the buses take up pretty much the entire lane and I love how the buses feel. There are still features I’d like to see added, but the game is already a great experience and has a lot of potential.
I installed The Bus thinking: “haha funny bus game, drive around a bit, uninstall after 20 minutes.” It has now been 157.1 hours and I am emotionally invested in Berlin’s public transport system. The Gameplay Loop You start the game like a normal person. You end the game stopping exactly at the curb with surgical precision while judging other drivers for not using their indicators. [*]drive bus [*]stop at stop [*]open door [*]people enter bus [*]feel powerful And somehow this is weirdly satisfying . The game recreates parts of Berlin in 1:1 scale which is cool until you realize Berlin traffic operates under the rule of: "good luck lol." Cars cut you off, pedestrians appear out of nowhere, and you’re sitting there in a 12-meter vehicle like a confused whale trying to merge into traffic. The Passengers (the real bosses) Also the passengers in this game are terrifying . They don't complain. They mostly don't talk. They just stand there silently judging you while you accidentally brake like you're trying to launch them into orbit. Realism You don’t just press “go.” You must: [*]start the bus [*]set the route [*]release the brake [*]manage the doors [*]follow the schedule At some point I realized I was actually trying to be a good bus driver (crazy right?) Early Access Reality Check Yes, the game is still in Early Access. But honestly, people complain way too much . I bought the game on 12 July 2025 and watching the development since then has been an awesome journey . The game keeps improving update after update. The recent update to Unreal Engine 5.6 made the game look even better, and it's clear the developers are constantly working on it. If you compare the game now to older versions, the progress is honestly impressive. Seriously — the game keeps getting better and better. Pros & Cons Pros: [*]relaxing gameplay [*]surprisingly detailed city [*]big bus go vroom Cons: [*]Berlin traffic [*]passengers silently judging you [*]I now notice bus drivers doing things wrong in real life (even more than before) Conclusion: Euro Truck Simulator , but instead of cargo you transport 45 disappointed Berliners.
I have over 700 hours in TML Studio games, Fernbus Sim and Tourist Bus Sim, so this made me hold off buying The Bus. I held off because both previous titles had/have performance issues. Sad to report, but The Bus also suffers from performance issues. It's not down to your equipment but down to optimization. If you are bothered by 40fps then this game will bother you. Does it bother me? No. It bothers me in their other sims because you're driving 80-100kph and low fps kills it. Personally I don't think you need 60fps in a city bus driving sim, as it's a lot of stops and traffic lights. Aside from the performance, this is a pretty solid bus sim. TML have taken what they've learned from their other sims and combined them into one. The city is detailed like the real city of Berlin. You can hear the sounds of the bars, children at school, it has emergency services attending accidents and fires. The buses themselves are very well detailed will fully functioning dashboards. The routes are real life routes with real life timetables and take real time to run the route. You can Free roam or start Economy and grow your bus business. If you enjoy bus sims, then yes buy this one.
