For me it was a very fun experience. The story was engaging and not to serious. The gameplay was good both from the difficulty and enemy variety. Going from area to area the difficulty slowly ramps up and you never really feel too powerful. The monsters are just hard enough to give you a challenge and can kill you but with a proper strategy you can also kill them just as well. Once you finish the game there isn’t much, but scenarios do provide a bit of a challenge. Or you can start a new game with a different class as there are three to chose from. Or you can go for achievements. I would say all bar one are doable, but the last one where you have to kill 500000 monsters just sucks. Without cheating it takes hours and days to complete it. I wish there would be more tower defense levels where you had to protect the lair, or even back in Markovna when rusalkas attack. It was like a minigame within the game. All in all, it’s a 4,5/5 in terms of fun. Good game.

I like the story and the world-building. The controls can be a bit clunky and even though it's a hack/slash game, sometimes it feels like the character is under-powered. Even with all of the upgrades that you give him in the game. I also really like the Eastern European take on this, as well as all of the monsters from the fairy tales. NOTE: Important info if you're playing for the first time: If you want to play as a Thaumaturge or an Arcane Mechanic, you have to buy the DLC separately and upload it. But not only that, you can't change your existing character to be that class mid-game. You would have to start over from the beginning and do everything again. to amend my earlier statement: You can keep getting achievements, but some achievements only count for the first run-through of the game. Others stack up.

Great game! Totally enjoyed it, but the story line was too short. I completed the game in 27 hours. I wished it was much longer.

Not a bad ARPG and one of the first of this genre I’ve played through to completion. I quite enjoyed my 21 hours completing the main campaign as a ranged hunter whilst my sidekick did the tanking. Katarine your ghostly sidekick has all the chatter and is quite entertaining, but she cannot hold agro very well, so late game mostly involved kiting the harder to kill monsters. To successfully achieve this, I did need to rebind the movement keys from the cursor keys to WASD, allowing mouse over targeting. The story is fairly week to the point I don’t even remember what it was, but the individual missions are there to keep you focused and are straightforward enough. Some of the maps are huge and you can easily miss areas so there is replayability and as there are 3 classes to pick from, different playstyles are available. Unfortunately, on this version of the game’s alternative classes are DLC purchases. Sticking with the included class you can still specialise into melee or ranged and ranged is what I picked. I’d recommend the Final Cut version over this original release, but I had this un-played for several years so wanted to give it a try. I will not be picking up the two sequels as they are included in the Final Cut version. No technical problems on my 4080 at 4K. It’s an oldie so performance is fine, but as I’m at 150% DPI I did need to override the scaling to ‘application’ in explorer. The PC Gaming Wiki entry covers this.

Been fun so far just starting but highly recommend. If you like ARPG's like Grim Dawn, Diablo, PoE then you will like this and the story is good so far. The game doesn't hold your hand even on normal mode you're getting stomped if you don't watch out. It's nice to play a game like this again keeps you on your toes. Give it a shot usually really cheap on sales if you don't want full price.
