Overall, I would say that this game was good, not great. Being the 12th Lego game that I've replayed this year (and despite my constant love for Ninjago as a TV show) this one doesn't quite hold a candle to a lot of the other games in the TT/Lego Franchise. That being said, I would be a liar if I said I had no fun at all playing this one. The character roster is great, the dojos are super fun to go through, and while the levels are relatively short, they're good for what they are. I think I honestly just wish that they based this game off of the TV show instead of making references to it. The show (in my opinion) has much more depth, nuance, and cool worldbuilding than the movie had/could ever have. Despite all of that, some of Garmadon's lines did make me actually laugh out loud as I played this. All in all, I would say to pick this one up at a discounted if you're a completionist (like me) or a superfan of the Ninjago series. Otherwise, I would to say to spend your hard earned cash on a better Lego game :D

This lego game has one of the best combat systems i have ever encounter in a lego game and the levels being designed around parkour based levels in executed very well in this game. That being said everything else about this lego game is bad from story to how ninjago as a whole is represented is bad it is unfortunate that such good combat mechanics got wasted on this game, however i still recommend playing it at lest once to try the combat out

I think LEGO games are ultimately the best when they are an original LEGO theme, rather than the DC/Marvel/WB IPs. I don't really know what it is about this game, but it really feels like they put a lot of heart into it compared to the other recent titles. The characters are animated on a different framerate than the rest of the world, which makes it feel very LEGO-ey. There's neat little combat options - ultimately, it's just button mashing like before, but it makes it feel cool when there's a combo meter, and there's even upgrades to that combat system that get unlocked as the story progresses. They did away with level-based True Jedi-type progress, and actually instead opted for eight fairly expansive levels for the collectibles - plus, the free roam doesn't force you to replay the story, they just have another option for that, which is a real QoL improvement. I REALLY like that the game actually forces you to look around and explore, rather than having a flying character to trivialize gathering all of the collectibles. Obviously, it's not gonna do that much for someone that doesn't know anything about Ninjago, but I think that this is definitely one of the more solid LEGO games put out :)
