No entiendo la gente que se queja tanto del juego, entiendo que por 30 pavos igual da un poco de rabia pero esta bien hecho es bonito la historia es chula y respecto a que se alarga un poco y hay demasiado combate pues si es verdad, pero es un juego de 10 horitas tampoco se siente como estar enjaulado y casi hasta el final estan metiendo nuevas mecanicas. Para mi es un notable
PEAK. Es juego es lo que se llamaría una uncommon Riot W. Es excelente. Me encanta que hayan sido fieles a la historia original, solamente con algunos cambios, y que la hayan hecho canon y tenga sentido dentro del universo y siga funcionando después de varios años y retcons. Que siga encajando dentro de lo que sabemos del lore de la región es fantástico, especialmente para aquellos aficionados del universo de Runaterra. Los snippets de lore que hay desperdigados por el mapa aportan un montón de contexto e hila varios sucesos que la historia principal no cuenta, así que me pareció que fue una gran adición. Pero lo más sobresaliente del juego es sin duda alguna el pixelart y el combate. Como ávido fan de hack 'n slashes y de la vista isométrica como concepto, este es una obra de arte a todos los niveles. Se siente súper fluido, hay muchísimos combos y diferentes posibilidades de ejecutar ataques con todos los sistemas que funcionan a la vez. Súper customizable, y no excesivamente duro al no jugar al 100%. Artísticamente es de los mejores pixelarts que vi desde el Titan Souls. Todos los detalles que hay en cada escenario es inexplicable. Se nota que le pusieron mucho empeño en calcar lo mejor posible todo lo que conocíamos sobre cómo es Demacia, desde los bosques más frondosos y campamentos aislados hasta las más imponentes construcciones de la Gran Ciudad. Los bosses están a otro nivel (especialmente una cierta maga alada violeta, esa pelea es sexo puro). No sólo porque mecánicamente exigen lo suficiente, si no que además no se pueden rushear (a no ser que los rejuegues) por cómo funcionan los tipos de daño. Son espectaculares y tienen los mismos ataques que en el LoL, lo que los hace incluso más atractivos, porque se sienten familiares (aunque exagerados) pero aún así desafiantes. Todo lo que es apartado musical y sfx no tengo ninguna queja, de hecho me pareció adecuada en todo momento; no será la banda sonora más memorable de un videojuego, pero definitivamente cumplió. En general si no es un diez, le pega en el palo. Recomendadísimo. Por este tipo de joyas me da lástima que Riot haya manejado sus estudios de la forma en la que lo hicieron, porque ahora vaya a saber uno cuánto más le van a poner para sacar el MMO, o vuelvan a contratar a otro estudio para hacer un spin-off de otra historia basada en el LoL.
A bit more jank, a lot less salt. For a couple of years now Riot has tried to seperate their universe of Runeterra from the large but also overwhelmingly negatively regarded shadow of League of Legends. The most prominent example is probably the vastly popular animated show Arcane but the other is their, sadly now defunct, videogame publisher Riot Forge. Together with the help of outside studios the yield of games has been really solid across the board, with the best one probably being Ruined King in collaboration with Airship Syndicate, the makers of Battlechasers: Night War and Darksiders Genesis. The other titles have sadly gone without that much notice and the best known recent release is the awkwardly named 2XKO. Still I have to give kudos that they tried to do something different with every game they published. Mageseeker is a top down pixel artstyle action game in the vein of Dablo or Path of Exile but in a smaller scale both in size and presentation. Which does not mean that it does not do well the things that it attempts. The game casts you in the shoes of Sylas of Dregbourne, a rogue mage and aspiring anarchist in the very clean but rotten kingdom of Demacia. Sylas is gruff, innitially abrasive and headstrong with thrist for vengeance but never entirely unlikeable. He has a reason to be furious but fury alone is not enough to fuel a rebellion, is it? The game is very pretty and pleasant to look at and listen to with pixelated but detailed setpieces, fun bossfights and a surprisingly emptional story to round it up. Combat is relatively simple but satisfying and will keep you on your toes to not get shredded by the pretty sizable amount of enemies the game throws at you. Sadly the hooking mechanic never felt entirely intuitive and can be frustratingly finnicky at times. Especially during high stress situations. I have had no game breaking bugs or glitches but had a couple of instances where the character became both almost immobile and immortal or where I suddenly could not attack anymore. Still those bugs were not enough to dampen the fun too much. Mageseeker is a fun little game for everybody who wants to learn a bit more about the world of Runeterra but does not want to have to queue up foir a LoL lobby. (As usual this review has been written without the use of AI of any kind)
