Great escape room. Spooky, but no jumpscares. Multitudes of hidden rooms, levers and mechanisms to uncover, for some reason I really enjoy the whole "old egyptian mechanisms + mummy curse" trope whenever it appears and this is exactly that. The only downside is that it's too short for the price, so get it on sale. Besides that - no notes, really. Played on Quest 3 with ALVR on CachyOS with no issues whatsoever.
It is pretty cool! It starts rather simple, you might think that the VR things are a little too simplistic, with puzzles being... not really puzzle-y, but it slowly gets better. It never goes too hard with things being too fiddly - keeping it still rather simple mechanically for VR - but they do get more complicated in general. It definitely showcases some things that would only work in VR really, although there's a couple of things that might be a little too obscure (the idea that you can even do them) - but overall, it all still works out. It might be a little gimmicky at times, but it does show why it's made for VR and VR only - and at the end of it all, it's a pretty good The Room game. I enjoyed it!
After waiting 5 years to play this game I can say I am very satisfied. Been a fan of the series since the first entry and this capture so much of the same joy as the rest of the series. It also feels like a nice finale, kinda a shame to be locked behind vr but it was worth it for me. I look forward to checking out fireproof's newest game sometime soon.
