I'm a big fan of the Warcraft series especially Warcraft III, and the Souring is kind of like a modern reimagining of Warcraft II, also integrating some aspects of WC3 such as neutral creeps in skirmish mode, and aspects of other RTS games like unit experience and unlimited control groups. The unit pathing is okay, it's more forgiving than the brutality which is WC3 but units also don't flow like liquid as in Starcraft 2. Unlike in WC3, units will try to shove other units out of the way, but it's still entirely possible to have a traffic jam if there are just too many units crammed into a tight space, like many gameplay decisions in this game, it seems very reasonable. The performance seems to be very good, my specs are okay, but that is no guarantee a game won't run like crap. I've only played Souring "normally", haven't tried "is there a limit", but like, I've never observed any performance dips even when watching busy replays at fast-forward. And yeah, this should be bare minimum expectations from an RTS, we had busy RTS games that could maintain good performance in the 1990's, but the devs for The Scouring have done the work to ensure performance is good There are many cool little details about the unit behaviours, like archers will use direct fire if they have line of sight on an enemy, but can also use indirect fire to hit enemies hiding behind obstacles, leaving a battlefield covered in arrows. The footmen climb up ladders onto towers to beat up the archers. The AI is a decent punching bag, I beat the hard AI the first time I played against it, so it is by no means at modern AoE2 level, but it's also not totally incompetent. If there's one thing I'm not so fond of, it's the washed out desaturated look of the graphics which is so common with modern games, I'm sure this is largely a matter of taste, but for me nothing beats the vibrant color palette and crispness of classic Warcraft 3 which was absolutely superb for "readability", so I wish there was a little more "pop" to the graphics, or an option in graphical settings. Anyway for a fan of the genre I think the Scouring is well worth the money even in its Early Access state. I've had a lot of fun just playing Skirmish and I love the direction of the game.

I've been looking for an RTS to jump into instead of sc2. The other classics like wc3, bw, aoe and aom didn't feel right to me. This, however, ticks all the boxes. Love the game <3

Absolutely miniscule amount of content in here, but what it does have is this: - Ragdoll physics - You can make a mod with notepad Amazing start; more units, more spells, give us more of what you just did, keep up the great work
