A great game. A dreadful season. Oh, boy… where do I even begin to address this particular season? If my 15/16-year-old self had written this review, it would have surely been a disappointed thumbs-down, no questions asked. I remember quite vividly how furious the community was—and I was no exception. But now, at 21/22, more mature and having recently replayed the entire franchise on my PS5, I find myself with a more balanced perspective. Despite the chaos and backlash that surrounded this season upon release, I believe there are some fair points to be made. Time, after all, has a way of bringing clarity. So… let’s revisit this rough chapter—deconstructing it piece by piece, like opening an ancient history book. The game is enjoyable so far, and Javier has proven to be more engaging than I initially expected. However, this should not have been the direct follow-up to Season 2 of The Walking Dead. The fans truly deserved a fully developed continuation that honored Season 2, with branching story paths reflecting previous choices. While such an undertaking might seem ambitious, it is well within reach for a successful company like Telltale in 2016. Numerous studios with far more limited budgets have managed to create games with significant narrative divergences based on player decisions. Yet Telltale, despite promoting itself as a champion of choice-driven storytelling, appears to have made no serious effort in this regard. There is a glaring lack of closure to events like Wellington or other key elements from the previous season. Even Kenny's storyline, arguably the most beloved character arc, is concluded with a mundane and unworthy demise—a car accident. Kenny, dying in a car crash—it's difficult to imagine a more insulting conclusion for such a pivotal figure. I remember my teenage self being absolutely furious—so much so that I couldn’t even put it into words. It felt like I was going through all the stages of grief at once. Especially because I had chosen to stay with Kenny… he was a father figure to my Clementine, just as Lee had been, and I saw him through that same lens of love and protection. Moreover, Clementine is completely sidelined in this season, which is an egregious misstep by the developers. I understand the desire to tell Javier’s story, but it should have been presented in a separate game. As it stands, returning players are now torn between their attachment to Clementine and the introduction of Javier's family, resulting in a disjointed and conflicting experience. Even more disappointing is that player choices ultimately have no meaningful impact. What we are left with is a single game that attempts to merge two narratives, each of which could have flourished independently. Instead, they are blended together haphazardly, stripping the story of any substantial character development or compelling side arcs. What remains is a barebones, linear experience. While the narrative carries beautiful themes of love, brotherhood, legacy, family, and loyalty, it ultimately fails as a continuation of The Walking Dead saga. It undermines, diminishes, and casts aside all the emotional and narrative investment made in Clementine's character during Season 2. The flashbacks, in particular, feel like a deep disservice to the spirit and integrity of the preceding seasons. Everything—literally the entirety of Season 2 of The Walking Dead—was building up her character for Season 3. However, the impact of that entire season was undermined by the developers’ choices in this sequence. I’m giving it a thumbs up because it is, in fact,[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaGtc60lfEM] a great game, but a disappointing season. I'll see you when I see you.

i honestly think the start of the game could be better as i personally find it a bit lack of detail for the intro. Otherwise that when you got halfway into the story it starts growing on you and getting good The concept is good i do like what they thought for this one but i Like Season 1-2 More i think they was more Intriguing for dramatic scene's overall i give this game a 8/10

This is a story not only about survival but also about how a family falls apart in the midst of the apocalypse. At the center of it are the brothers, Javier and David, whose relationship is put through numerous trials. The game presents a brutal world where even the strongest people can break. The story begins with Javier, the younger brother, trying to protect his loved ones. Soon, he encounters his older brother, David, who has been living in a different camp all this time and has become a tough leader. He tries to maintain control, but the world around him keeps breaking him down. David is a complex character. On one hand, he is a real soldier, accustomed to making tough decisions. On the other hand, he just wants to keep his family safe. However, his methods often lead to conflict, especially with Javier. The further the story progresses, the more you realize: he is not a villain—he is a man broken by time. The game's ending becomes a true test. You can try to save David, but he still walks away, not believing that he has a future. It is one of the most tragic moments—when you understand that sometimes, even your best efforts cannot change fate. The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is a dramatic story about how even the strongest people can break in a world of chaos. David is a complex yet tragic character who fights for his family until the very end, but in the end there is only one left. This game is truly remarkable, and it powerfully conveys the harsh reality that no matter how hard you try, some things are simply beyond your control. If you care about deep family dramas, this part will hit you right in the heart.

This title is a little bit different than the two before it. The first two focus heavily on the story of Clementine and her growth throughout the apocalypse. This one continues the journey of Clem, but in a different way. In this story you play through the eyes of a brand new character who really has their own growth and development throughout. Clem is present, but her story is told through interactions. It’s an interesting new direction, and I think the writers did a good job of showing us Clem’s growth between TWD:S2 and The New Frontier. Javier, the new main character, and his family are good characters. The plot is interesting and the story is able to keep the player involved throughout. Additionally, like TWD:S2 there are new combat mechanics. The new characters, new combat mechanics, well told story, and development for Clementine make this an obvious must play if you are a fan of the series. It does not disappoint.

Pretty good game. Not much interaction thought. Can only use "W" key to move the character. Still don't know to point of 'sprint', you can't really use it most of the time. The "Q" and the "E" keys are not in the control layout, but you use them more than WASD that show in the control layout.
