Overall, this VR game is great and will satisfy the hardcore VR enthusiasts who want a story driven VR game with challenging set pieces, but it does let me down a bit in terms of story writing. 8/10 technicality: I experienced ONE recurring bug, which is the map on the skiff having a clone floating on top of the skiff which I could ignore or use and nothing would break. Other than that, it ran perfectly. graphics: I play on high settings and omg the game looks AMAZING with disgustingly gorgeous zombie models and breathtaking scenery all around. gameplay: it's the same as the first Saints & Sinners game, but it gives you even more weapons to play and experiment with, which all feel so satisfying to use. The sap gloves and the chainsaw are my current favourites (a VR game with a chainsaw bro!! Finally!!). the story: it builds upon the beautifully written story of the first Saints & Sinners game, but you can tell it's just not as good. Don't get me wrong, you'll have A TON of fun exploring the new areas and experiencing the new set pieces that you see during the campaign. Trust me, there are plenty of cool moments. The writing is where I have my issues. There are characters that you just don't see long enough or they lack personality for you to connect with them (some very important characters didn't show up in the most important part of the game for me, like come on).

I think many negative reviews (bugs excluded) are people who expected brand new levels, gameplay, and settings. This is not that. Admittedly, it feels like a DLC. BUT, if you accept it for what it is (more of the game you enjoyed already), then you will have fun. There are 2 or 3 new maps, two more "boards" of equipment/guns, bigger home base, new enemies, and the addition of night runs. The new additions are all fun, and night is intense. Regarding bugs, I experienced TWO. It was a floating flare and weird character model. That is all.... no big deal. You can import your save from the first game with a code it generates to carry over your inventory and skills. Pretty cool! You can also find other working codes on youtube if you want to cater your experience. The story is not as good this time. Oh well, I want to kill things and horde a stash, not examine the literary merit of a zombie narrative. The AI is a little worse this time, unfortunately. The people do not pose as much of a threat. Which pairs badly with your bigger arsenal. Most threats are trivialized now except the larger hordes of zombies. I did get some weird zombie spawning, where they would spawn right behind me after killing some in an empty room. I do get the sense that this was not the full product they hoped to make, but overall it is worth the money. If you liked the first one... this one is just that but spicier.

I straight up have no idea what these recent negative reviews are smoking but this game runs just fine. I am using a Quest 2 with the through the Meta Quest Link app WITH AIRLINK and have had no issues running this game. Is the way you have to set up Quest PCVR with SteamVR horrible? Absolutely! But that has nothing to do with the game. Besides that, the game takes place directly after the events of the first game. It being a "Chapter 2" you really should play the first game before this if you want to better immerse yourself. Since the game assumes you have played the first game, it started me off with a all of my skills already at levels 5 or 6. I was confused as to why at first, but they introduced 2 brand new skill tables to level. They basically fast track you right before you get the cool new stuff in the second game. Also, I really hope you like the dark. Because literally every main quest in my playtime so far has required me to go to a location at night. Good luck seeing anything, especially if you want to stealth at all since your flashlight gives you away extremely easily. Overall, if you enjoyed the first game, you will most definitely enjoy this game. It is just more content with new toys to play with and a few new locations to play in. While the dark can be annoying at times, it does still absolutely add to the horror factor when creeping through a pitch black building crawling with walkers.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution had the potential to build on the immersive survival horror of its predecessor, but it left me feeling underwhelmed. The core mechanics—brutal melee combat, scavenging, and faction interactions—are still solid, and slicing through walkers with a chainsaw is undeniably satisfying. The atmosphere remains tense, with the flooded ruins of New Orleans providing a haunting backdrop. However, the game quickly falls into a repetitive loop. Missions mostly boil down to fetch quests—go here, grab this, bring it back. I kept waiting for more variety, for something that would shake up the formula, but it never really came. The story continues from the first game, but it doesn’t feel like a true sequel—more like an expansion with a few new areas and weapons. Technical issues also hold the experience back. Performance problems, occasional bugs, and graphical inconsistencies make it feel less polished than it should be. While the combat is still engaging, the lack of meaningful progression and mission diversity made the experience feel shorter than I expected. If you loved the first game, there’s still fun to be had here, but don’t expect a groundbreaking sequel. Saints & Sinners 2 delivers more of the same, but without enough innovation to make it truly stand out. I wanted more depth, more variety, and a longer, more engaging journey—but instead, I got another round of fetch quests in a world that deserved better.
