Three Kingdoms Zhao Yun is a janky but enjoyable action-RPG that blends Dynasty Warriors with Diablo. Despite its unfinished state, lack of updates, broken English, and some truly baffling crafting systems, the game features satisfying combat, decent visuals, and a fun skill-based weapon system that makes mowing down enemies feel great. The story mixes historical and fictional elements, sometimes clumsily, especially with the addition of fictional females who all have the hots for Zhao Yun. It starts slow, ends abruptly after the Battle of Changban, and could’ve used more development time, but for fans of the era who can tolerate some jank, it still delivers a good time. I'm conflicted. It has a good story, especially since I love the Three Kingdom tales and the games surrounding it. But I can't stand the control mechanism. It feels like I went back in time and I'm playing on the PS one instead of a updated PC with control mechanism that make combat efficient and more practical. It takes some getting used to - especially with the current trend of games and the graphics are nice and not bad. I almost feel that maybe this game would do better with a controller instead of a keyboard. All-in-all not too bad. There are some random places where the original language still pops up so you have no idea what's being sad unless you are efficient in Chinese. Also, you can't fully skip dialogue and the pauses are a bit annoying. It's definitely a blast of the past, just not sure it's a good kind. If you get past the nuances, it's worth playing for the storyline if nothing else.

余尤好旧版，或因童年回忆相助耳。 至于所为何故，除怀旧之外，余以为旧版之背囊体系、技能编制及耗材设计，皆颇有趣也。 然制作之人或有虑焉，今之设计，或更契当世游戏之趣。 然亦佳矣。 其有配音，伴乐悠扬，而文言文之运用尤为妙绝。 诚佳作也！ 此盖不同时代之所产，长短各异，难分轩轾耳。 注： 个人更喜欢旧版，当然也有可能是童年回忆"加成"， 至于为什么更喜欢旧版除了怀旧以外我认为 旧版的背包系统 技能组 消耗品那些比较有趣 可能制作组考量到，现在这种设计更符合现在这个时代的游戏体验 但这也不错 有配音 背景音乐 大量使用文言文 是真的不错 纯粹是不同时代的产物，各有所长，各有千秋 the game is not bad，if you ever play the old 2001 game，and you want to feel the game again. even for my opinion i think the old one is better just maybe because i have "memory buff" on that. but "current" game is more suitable for now generation. both is good.
