Finally Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorrow is back, this was the only Splinter Cell missing from stores, Ubisoft actually fixed the broken lighting and shadows issue on newer GPUs which means no need to used DGVoodo2 to render those graphical effects but Widescreen support is missing and this game forces to to use Ubisoft connect. Both of these issues can be fixed, Just install SteamSuperheater app on PC and install all the fixes listed on that app for this game, no more Ubisoft connect and the game will work in ur desktop resolution in proper widescreen.

Pros: + Finally on steam after 21 years of waiting + Fixed shadows and lights. No more dgVoodoo 2 fix + Classic stealth game + Good soundtrack Cons: - Ubisoft Connect, but still no cloud saves. Whats the point? - Ubisoft Connect, but no Multiplayer - No steam cloud saves - Water shaders are still bugged - No native controller support - No native widescreen support - No achievements - 60 FPS cap This is old game. Need tweaks and improvements. I recommend to use this Guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3586803351 5/10

Pandora Tomorrow is a good stealth game. Not the best Splinter Cell game, that goes to Chaos Theory, but better then the first one overall. The game used to be on Steam years ago, but they pulled it down because of technical issues with the in game lighting systems. Which is a big problem for a game like this were you NEED the lighting to work correctly at all times. They fixed the lighting bugs for this port and added it back on steam. But it has some issues... 1. Ubisoft Connect Requirements - It's a 20+ year old game and this port removed the multiplayer. So why does it need an Ubi connect account? I have a theory, but I'll get into that in a moment. 2. No Multiplayer - Spies vs Mercs was removed all together. 3. No Native Widescreen Support - Here are the aspect ratios the game supports in the options menu... - 640 x 480 - 800 x 600 - 1080 x 1024 - 1600 x 1200 4. No Native Controller Support. These issues are why the game is getting down-voted so heavily right now. I think there's an easy explanation as to why the game was added back to the steam store page like this. As of writing this, Ubisoft is in the middle of remaking the first Splinter Cell game. They actually have positions open for the team in charge of remaking it. Also, Netflix recently launched a new Splinter Cell animated TV show called Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. I watched season 1 and it was excellent. Here's to hoping the stays good in future seasons. I don't think it's a coincidence that this game was placed back on the steam store page at the same time the show came out. They're trying to stoke interest in the franchise again outside of the hardcore fan base that's already here. If someone sees the show and thinks its good, they may want to go and play the games afterwords. Only to find the second game isn't available right now due to technical issues. And what do you know... they happen to fix the lighting issues and put it back on the store at just the right time. It's no secret that Ubisoft isn't doing so hot as a company right now. So they probably weren't going to put a ton of resources into giving Pandora Tomorrow the TLC necessary for a good port. Especially if they're making a remake of the first game. I imagine if the remake sells well enough, then Ubi would at least consider doing a remake of Pandora Tomorrow. Why invest time and money into a port of a 20+ year old game that may or may not be getting the remake treatment in a few years time? So it makes sense that they would just fix SC:PT so it's playable and put it back on steam with no other fixes. That's also probably why they want you to make an Ubisoft Connect account to play it. So they can try to boost the number of users a little and help themselves look good as a company. It's annoying and I don't like it, but I get it. Also, lets get real here, Ubi knows they can get away with some stuff like that because not many people are gonna give a fuck about this game having a crappy port. This is an old game and it's not even the best Splinter Cell game, so there's not that many people are gonna care about it in the first place, good port or not. I see a some people trying to recommend the PS3 emulated port of the game over this one. The PS3 port is the inferior version of Pandora Tomorrow, it always has been. It has worse textures and more bugs then the Xbox and PS2 versions of the game. And if you've never used an emulator, it's no easier to set up then just modding this version of the game you can keep in your steam library. I installed a controller fix and a widescreen fix. The old widescreen fix doesn't work out of the box anymore. It looks like Ubi changed some files around for this port. So I had to configure some files and download some other stuff from github. Now I have Xbox controller support and the proper resolution for my 1920 x 1080 monitor. It seems to be working so far. I can't rebind my controller buttons in the options menu. I have to open the Xidi.ini file in notepad and do it manually, which is kind of annoying. I also got 1920 x 1080 working, and maybe 3840 x 2160 "4K"? Not completely sure about 4K, because I don't have a 4K monitor, so I can't properly test it. The point is, this port is fixable. I don't have much experience with Unreal Engine 2, but I'll play test and see if their are any bugs. Then I'll try and see if I can build a mod pack to plop on ModDB to fix the problems for the steam release. Assuming someone else dosen't get to it first.

As with any legacy game there's no widescreen support but surprisingly for UBISoft they fixed the shadow rendering which makes it worth the buy alone. In response to questions asked below, there are no widescreen options. The max res is 1600x1200 so no 4K options and none of the widescreen patches currently available work so it's 4:3 only I'm afraid.

If you're here wondering why this just dropped on Steam, I dunno, but it's basically the same build as was always available, but goes through Ubisoft Connect. It's not ACTUALLY the same build, so the ThirteenAG patch for widescreen support does not work. Shadows work for me no problem (on an AMD card). Doesn't include any of the files for the multiplayer, which can still be played with some third-party help if you have another version of the game. Great game. Weird ending.
