While I think the default controls are a bit wonky and the mouse sensitivity is on the moon, it was a pretty good game. The best time I had with it was when I was sniping hazmat goons, which doesn’t feel that surprising, considering what “Rebellion” is famous for. And, hey! It’s around 10 bucks cheap in my country, so why not give it a chance?! P.S. I played it on Normal.
I expected Rogue Trooper to be a bit of a brainless romp, but no, that's one of the better, tighter single player shooter campaigns I've had the privilege to enjoy. So many tools and mechanics and approaches to well-considered, varied setpieces. This one has Got It to a degree I wouldn't have suspected.
Didn't really expect much when I went in, but I actually ended up having an absolute blast with this game, and it turned out to be one of the best things I've played in a hot minute. I really liked the story, characters and world of the game, really dug the vibe, the graphics and look of the game can be quite good too, with a pretty decent atmosphere in some parts. The combat is pretty solid and enjoyable, and the stealth mechanics are really fun too, with some awesome takedown animations. Honestly I had an awesome time with this game from beginning to end, and I can easily recommend it to anyone.
What Is Rogue Trooper Rogue Trooper Is an Action, Third Person, Sci-Fi, Shooter, where you are a GI a genetic modified soldier that wants revenge his comrades , he is hunting a traitor alongside with his fallen comrades (That now are chips in his gun and helmet) that helps the "Rogue Trooper" to fulfill his mission. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story: You play as "Rogue Trooper" a GI soldier that wants to revenge his fallen comrades , all by himself , he visits different locations and destroys the enemy guns, ships , etc , all thx to his comrades, that are now chips in his guns and helmet, that can give him many tools to complete his mission. Points: 7 Gameplay: Rogue Trooper has a couple of guns in his arsenal , all of them take a role , his primary gun is a standard rifle that when you zoom , it transforms into a sniper rifle, you have shotgun, pistol , a rocket launcher etc, All of the weapons serve a purpose and all are fun to use , Rogue Trooper can climb and take cover , which it helps him in the battle , you can find cover and easily take down enemies with the sniper rifle. But , like i said even if the weapons have their purpose, there's not too much , you only have one rifle, one shotgun ,etc. Points: 7 Atmosphere: the game takes place in a planet called "Nu Earth" but in this planet, you visit many locations which have different enviroments and details , all the places that you visit are different from each other, you have the big city with a lot of towers , big buildins, you have a dessert , a forest with huge trees, beaches, etc. All of them have unique details and doesn't look exactly the same. Points: 7 Soundtrack: The soundtrack of Rogue Trooper is mixed , you have good tracks , and others are regular "military tunes" , the best soundtracks are almost at the end of the game, which is fine, but there's not variety and the only songs that you are going to listen are typical military songs. Points: 6 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall: The game is fun, for the time (2006) in my opinion looks good , is nothing special , but is fun , you can play it and complete it in a couple of hours , if you don't take too long looking at the enviroment , etc (Like i did, that's why i have so many hours) But , theres another game called "Rogue Trooper Redux" which is an enhanced version, play whichever version you want , this one is cheaper tho. General Points: 7
