Inspired by old 3D Sonic, this Toree is simultaneously the most hype of the three while also being the most busted. When things are going as planned, it's fun, fast, and you're making just enough reflexive choices for the experience to be fun. But every so often you miss a launch star or Toree suddenly loses all momentum after hitting one and you unexpectedly plummet to death. It's the only one of the 3 I have no real interest in attempting 100%, but I really enjoyed my brief half hour with it. The game felt shorter than anticipated. I was expecting the story to reveal an even bigger baddie, the general of the evil army that Hawkee joined up with. Still, I'd rather have a couple superbly crafted levels than more for the sake of it. Can't wait to see what Siactro does next!
The most cathartic dialogue-free 3D platformer I've ever played. This is definitely my favorite of the Toree games so far and takes the series from "fun diversion" to "must-play", though it's probably worth playing 1/2 first. You can finish your first playthrough in under an hour but you'll want to keep coming back to every level to find all the secrets and improve your times. Deeply special addition to the "games that are kind of like Sonic" genre.
Best Toree yet and thats saying a lot. The movement feels better than ever. I love the ground slam to gain speed mechanic. Amazing design choice. It makes the skill ceiling so high. I've got A or S in every level right now and there are still many more collectibles to get! Very great game. This is a departure from the previous Toree games. It's very speed focused. If you aren't playing to get A and S ranks then the game won't be nearly as engaging. If you are it is so fun.
