I absolutely love this game, and honestly, this is more of a love letter than just a standard review. Total Miner was so far ahead of its time on the 360 that it is still kind of wild to think about. While Minecraft on the 360 had tiny map limits and basically no automation, we were over here running full-blown Java-style servers. It gave us high-level control that just did not exist on consoles back then; since Bedrock was not even a thing yet, the only way to get stuff like teleportation or custom monster spawns was through Total Miner’s Script Blocks. You could literally script specific attributes for mobs to make them harder or behave differently, which made us feel like gods in complete control with no limits to our creative vision. The scale of the world and the sheer amount of content was incredible. Minecraft on 360 felt like playing in a cramped shoebox, but Total Miner’s Dig Deep mode let you tunnel down over 3,000 blocks. Even in Creative, you could set up maps that were way larger, giving you actual room to breathe and build. The game featured a huge range of creatures like Goblins, Orcs, Werewolves, and Trolls, plus even more hard fantasy threats like Dryads, Djinns, and the terrifying Diablos. It made exploration feel rewarding because you actually had to prepare for different types of threats. The community was awesome, and our collective creativity fueled each other to create ever more brilliant content. It is this fantastic community that has kept the game alive for so long. Even though the game is older now and we don't really see any new content, it is still incredibly fun and retains a dedicated following of people just as in love with it as I am. We all used to bounce between this, CastleMiner Z, and other clones like Murder Miners or FortressCraft back in the day, but in all honesty, those other titles had nothing on Total Miner when it came to raw quality and depth. It felt like a shared indie frontier where we were all looking for something with as few technical limitations to our ideas as possible. Total Miner was the spot where the architects went to actually build functional worlds with shops and zones, rather than just pretty houses. The game just kept getting better as the devs rolled out updates, eventually giving us over 20 built-in texture packs that went all the way up to crisp 64x64 HD. It even had specialized Ramp blocks for smooth slopes and the Component system, which let you save entire buildings to a clipboard and paste them anywhere. Using those Script Blocks felt like a legitimate introduction to computer science for me, bridging that gap between just playing a game and actually understanding the logic of how a world functions. It is a huge piece of Xbox history that proved an indie title could outpace Minecraft in terms of raw features and creativity. Thinking back on this game fills me with so much nostalgia and so many happy memories of a truly special era. I truly hope for the future success of Total Miner and that it finds the audience it deserves on this new platform. But above all else, I am just deeply happy to have played it and to have made those memories within its blocks. I am especially glad that it is finally here on Steam, where it can stay with me through until my final days.

I have played this game on the Xbox 360. its been awhile since i last played, but this game was basically minecraft for the xbox before it actually got ported. my little brother at one point recreated the entire kikori forest from ocarina of time. if you got a few bucks and some time to kill to look at an old relic of time than here you go

This game plays a bit rough and has a learning curve but is genuinely a great game, It game Minecraft a run for its money back in the day and even came out as a indie game on XBOX 360. This game has so much and lets you do so much more than Minecraft ever will without mods and has lots of neat enemy's and even visiting hell is more interesting in my opinion. The game even has saveable and joinable maps without the need for peoples serve IP's or anything which Minecraft should have done. I give this game a 9/10

Before Minecraft took over, before Trove or Portal Knights tried their hand at voxel worlds, there was Total Miner (Forge)—a game that did everything differently and somehow got lost in time. Imagine Minecraft, but with skill trees, NPCs, blueprints, and an actual reason to explore beyond "I need more blocks." Then add permadeath, traps, and a weirdly deep RPG system. Now sprinkle in a map editor so powerful people made entire parkour courses, puzzle maps, and RPGs inside it. The OG Xbox 360 players know the struggle—back when this was the go-to voxel game before Microsoft bought Mojang and Total Miner slowly faded into the abyss. The Steam version exists, but updates have been slower than mining obsidian with a wooden pickaxe. It's also worth noting that the game has had RCE (RAT) exploits in the past, and the server browser is a ghost town. Unless you’re planning to play solo or with a small group of friends, it might not be worth diving in. If you love old-school creativity, RPG mechanics, and nostalgia for 2011 gaming, Total Miner is a criminally underrated masterpiece. If you’re looking for amazing graphics and frequent updates… well, you might be waiting longer than a diamond spawn in Dig Deep mode.
