Very easy to learn game that is so chaotic that it doesn't really matter how good you get, there's always the chance of you losing given how much chaos ensues. The amount of times I wave-dashed, into a double wall-jump, stomped on another player, and grabbed a third players arrow then shot the fourth player only for one of those arrows to fall back down and on top of me once more to then kill me and make me lose the point are more than I can count... ... And it was such a blast. 10/10 would do it again.

I've been telling people that Towerfall is my favorite game of all time for about a decade. A lot of 4-player local multiplayer games have borrowed a lot of good ideas from Towerfall, but I think it is still the best of its kind. Even with all the skill I've developed over the years, it's still possible for me to play with newcomers, and even kids as young as 5, and everyone has a good time. HOWEVER, if you have a Nintendo Switch, and at least four good controllers, that is the definitive version of Towerfall. It includes the Dark World DLC and it adds a widescreen 6-player mode that isn't in the Steam version. The portable nature of that console is also a big advantage for getting Towerfall parties together. If you can't play Towerfall on a TV with at least four players in the same room, it just isn't worth it. If you don't want to get the Switch version, there is an separate executable version of Towerfall that has widescreen maps and accommodates up to 8 players. I haven't tried that, so I can't compare. That mod is not free, and it isn't on Steam.

Probably my favorite game of all times, and one of the greatest games ever made. 1000/10 would recommend to absolutely anyone with 1/friends 2/competitive blood 3/love of good times. It's the epitome of "easy to learn, hard to master". It shares its crown with the likes of Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Street or KoF. Yet even more than these classics, Towerfall's absolute beauty lies in its apparent barebones simplicity: You have 3 arrows. You can Jump. You can Dodge. How Crazy can it get? The answer is: pretty f-ing bats*it nail-biting tense crazy. Played it countless hours on PS4 (mostly), Switch (6p multiplayer!) and here - 99% of that time being multiplayer. Should be featured in every game collection featuring Couch Multiplayer games. Buy it. Gift it to your friends. Preach the Towerfall gospell!

As you can tell from the number of hours I played this game, I love it!! The game is extremely fun in all multiplayer modes, the mecanics are easy to learn, hard to master (especially adv techs), but the movements feel soooo great after that! All game modes are playable in solo (except versus ofc), but they're better in multiplayer. Unfortunately the game doesn't offer online, but parsec works really well as an alternative!! The OST and pixel art are also really good. I've played this game for almost 10 years, and I will most likely not stop playing it for a while!!

Tower Fall is one the most fun splitscreen Co-op and pvp games I've played. No matter the age, gender, or experience gaming, everyone is able to pick up this game and have a blast with it. Highly recommend it, even if you're playing solo.
