TRANSIENCE And here comes BigFryTV's game after the many years of patiently waiting! Was it worth the wait? I'd say yes but I do have mixed feelings with Transience. Not a bad game, not a slop asset flip at all but far from being a "great game". It does manage to nail the stealth part really well and at times, it reminded me a bit of that good old "PROJET IGI" from the early 2000... and mix that with MAX PAYNE 2 noir setting, Splinter Cell stealth style with the lights destruction. The atmosphere, sound and music are good! The visuals are decent aside from the character models. The story get's the job done but I didn't felt invested in it much. The level transitions on the comic book style is well done though and I liked it! POSITIVES: +"Spy, cyberpunk, noir-esque setting with the decent soundtrack helped set the style. You can clearly see the Max Payne 2 noir setting inspiration! +Stealth atmosphere is the highlight of Transience. +Gunplay is pretty good +Sounds, music and voice acting are good. +Despite being critiqued, I actually liked the two missions intro. +Funny stupid AI that I just kept trolling around while hiding in vents! +Randy Lahey! Oh man did I LMAO-ed when I saw that character... and it is voiced by BigFry himself!! Trailer Park Boys totally rules! ;) +No crashes or gamebreaking bugs encountered. +Perfect ultrawide resolution with a FOV slider! NEGATIVES: -PACING ISSUES: Cutscenes are quite long! The game stops at certain times and shoves a long cinematic. I find it just breaks the pacing and immersion. -ELI, the main protagonist, speaks way too much at times with his monologues. -Vague story with a structure problem. -Slow movement speed (I wish your suit would just give you faster movement speed instead of the SloMo mechanic). -Can't stop a running animation of reloading or healing. So you cannot switch to another weapon if in big trouble! -Can't climb up vents unless there is some small step to get on. -Subtitles that got unsynched in Mission 8 Safehouse Final briefing. Unsure how or why but the subtitles went on to repeat of all previous conversations with the NPC's. I exited to desktop and reloaded the game which fixed that issue afterwards. OVERALL: I did not dislike the game and I do not "love" it either. However, even for a very linear "spy-noir" setting, I wish there was more of that type out there. I do wished TRANSIENCE had more exploration to do with different infiltration ways to enter zones, sorta like Deus Ex where you had the liberty to enter levels as you saw fit and operate lethally or ghost style. RECOMMENDATION: I do find the game worth of exploring so yes, I do recommend it. There are good aspects to it and also, RESURGENT can clearly see where they can improve upon their next game. That is... I really hope RESURGENT makes another game. Maybe something different or a deeper dive into Transience story, the choice is yours guys! And on a final note... releasing TRANSIENCE after all these years as your first game, this is such a massive achievement that you guys did and I do hope you'll make more games in the future! Great job guys! ... Will we see Bubble's MeowMix Enterprise on a possible sequel? Or maybe Julian's Rum Industries? Or maybe Ricky's Phook Right Off Inc.? For what's worth, I'd just settle with Phil Collins' cheeseburger parties! ;)

Since I feel like I'm one of the only people who've beaten this game. Just going to post a review here. Game is a Solid 6 - 7 out of 10 - Gameplay is decent, AI can be whacky but you're able to stealth you're way through with patience (if the AI doesn't decide to just randomly see you through walls) and especially once you acquire a silencer for one of your weapons. Wish there was more weapons to choose from though. Last two missions feel rushed, can kind of tell they were just trying to push this out and add collectibles for a replay value. - Graphics are pretty good, art style is nice, performance is a hit or miss in some moments. - I can say that peoples frustrations with AI is valid, but some are exaggerated, you can do stealth through these missions to completion until that last couple missions where you're supposed to go all out. - Story is okay at best, dialogue goes on way too long and sometimes feels like skit from Caleb City which would be great if this was satire. Lastly some dialogue can be very corny. There are some times where people cut each other off which is annoying as hell and had some moments where cutscenes would randomly skip. Overall it's an ok experience with a lot of polish that needs to be done and fix some of the stealth systems in the game that can cause a lot of frustration. Spent around 6 hours to beat this game which is pretty decent for the asking price and has a Horde mode if you want feel like playing the game more.

Guy wanted to prove that indie devs can publish decent game with enough time and effort. I can confidently say that he did prove just that. Even thought there are some issues, like fps drops during gunfight sequences, and going thought the tedious first two levels. The overall package of the game is polished and earns the asking price. The art style and gunplay is decent. The world and story was actually interresting. It has that cyberpunk corpo theme. Honestly, for a first game with a small team. You did good BigFry

People really need to remember this isn't some new AAA team that stole 50 guys from Activision, EA, Ubisoft, and Rockstar. It is a small budget team proving asset flippers wrong. And they did that. All the bugs or similar have been getting fixed in real time on their discord which is great to see. Any complaint I could write can just be summarized by "It isn't perfect" but I'd be lying if I said this isn't a good start and GREAT foundation to build off of for these first time devs.

Saw some big ginger bloke promoting it on YouTube, so I thought I'd give it a try. Nice atmosphere, Satisfying gun-play with satisfying ragdoll kills, Cool attachment system, The main character does yap a bit, Enemy AI does need improving, as they don't seem to hear gunshots with unsuppressed weapons.
