I had a blast with this amazing sequel! Turnip Boy Robs a Bank takes place very soon after the events of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, so make sure to play that first if you have not already. The humor is exquisite. There is a lot of content to work through for 100% completion, and the pacing is much quicker due to the timer mechanic. I played on Casual difficulty, but it still had some challenge even with that. For me, this was my Game of the Year for 2024.

Just as charming as the first game and thankfully a little more refined when it comes to finishing and managing quests. Combat is actually pretty fun now, and the core loop is incredibly addicting. The writing is just as good as the first while expanding the little world they've created. Definitely looking forward to whatever they cook up next.

Just another positive review. You can tell how good and engaging the game is just by the fact that the rarest, most difficult, end game achievement has 30% completion. That means 30% of people beat the game and complete all optional tasks.

Sequel to one of the funnest little dumb games I've played in a long time. Super short, super easy but very fun and entertaining. Kind of reminds me of when I was a kid and games were just goofy fun little things. Super worth!

First off you should be aware that this is actually a roguelite and not an adventure, the trailers and description don't really make that clear and may be disappointing to players of the previous game (like myself). I will say that I am really not the biggest fan of rogue style games and this has all the familiar symptoms of one that you would expect: You go on timed runs through a singular building and try to progress a bit further each time. You lose weapons and cash you were holding if you die. Exploring the bank is done via elevators that send you to a random floor and this is actually pretty annoying if you are looking for a specific room or npc. The game play loop is repetitive by design and doesn't change much throughout the game. Thankfully it retains its charming, quirky characters and humour and it's pretty short and casual so I did still enjoy my time with it and there's a good chance you will too if you are a fan of the first game, just be aware of what you are getting into. Much prefer Tax Evasion but still had fun with this.
