Genuinely one of my favorite works of all time. This is the last entry in the trilogy and most definitively the best entry. I ended up taking a massive break from when i played prelude to when i started deception. And it actually helped me alot with immersion. I felt as though i had been missing these characters. Oboro, Aruruu, and the entire gang. Being a way from them, and suddenly reuniting in the second game felt so special. Either way that's enough about the second game cause this really is about the final game. There is not one moment in mask of truth that lacks enjoyment. The gameplay, although it stays the same from the previous game, it is still really enjoyable. There is a lot i want to say, but i do not want to delve to much into spoilers. All i can say is that if you enjoyed the previous games, i really hope you would want to see the story through and finish this amazing work of art. Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth 10/10

I felt like the story had higher highs but lower lows. I really loved the vibe of the first part of the game, but it kind of went downhill with a pretty incredible slog filler, and an unsatisfying story. After that, it picks up again, but it's not fun in the same way. That said, I'd still say it's really good and has somewhat peak moments—you definitely won't find the same charm or vibe anywhere else, there's hardly anything like this series with the vibe, and the worldbuilding on the market (probably Trails, I suppose)

Gameplay-wise it's nothing special. The game mechanics are mostly a filler, but it's a decent break from the VN part. The story, the world building and the sound - there is absolutely nothing quite like Utawarerumono. It's a one of a kind gem of a series. Chances are you will never find a better story or book, ever.
