There were 2 unique things i especially liked about Vampires' Melody: 1. The main girl Yella doesn't randomly and immediately fall in love with the protagonist, like what happens in most visual novels. Actually, it's not even clear if Yella likes the protagonist or not. She keeps you wondering, hoping, and wanting, like when you have a crush in real life. 2. It has a story flowchart which shows you exactly all the choices and scenes it leads to. Plus, you can actually interact with the flowchart and jump to scenes and pick a different choice. This is the only visual novel that has this, as far as I know. and it's wonderful. no need to make save games all the time to go back and forth. Yella is a pretty interesting character. independent, but also slightly arrogant which may cause her to make mistakes. And she comes with great voice acting and costume design. The whole game looks amazing by the way. The artwork is pristine. The soundtrack is amazing, even more peaceful and nostalgic than Fluffy Store's. I wish the soundtrack DLC was more complete. I think the game includes a lot of free music, which I guess they're not allowed to commercialize in any way. but you can find it on youtube. As for the story, I feel like there is much more than is being told, which left me curious. For example, there's a large criminal organization in the story, but we only interact with them superficially. And I would've loved to learn more about this great "renowned Mr. Cook", but we only get small mentions in passing. A lot of things simply happen without much explanation. A related problem is with the endings. The game has multiple endings as a selling point, but I feel like the amount of endings made it worse, as each ending is rather short, making them a little anticlimactic. But it's hard to not like this VN. Even though the story may not be world-class literature, it does everything else extremely well. Worth way more than its price. Also, you can switch between languages on the fly.

This game actually hit home in an almost shocking way for me. It is essentially a story about the hardships of being rejected by modern society, and the hostility you face from every single moment in your life when you try to get help. Our two protagonists push through with naive optimism, and develop a very genuine bond as they learn to trust and depend on each other in a world that rejects them. It's an earnest and genuine relationship they share, and any intimacy feels earned. I played this as I am going through a similar period in my life. It felt very validating, and sadly, in many ways very real (barring a cute tsundere vampire girlie to keep you company). Absolutely recommended for anyone who likes earnest, bittersweet stories.

"A love story greater than Twilight." Vampires' Melody is a visual novel revolving around the premise of well, vampires. Follow Raylan, a young chef, who is being pursued by some people who want him dead amidst a terrible thunderstorm. Upon successfully evading them, he stumbles into a tree hollow, where he discovers a mysterious girl, sleeping soundly. Though, this is no ordinary girl. However, everything goes black before he can realize what's going on... This is the first visual novel among AsicxArt's games to have choices, and yes, your choices will end up mattering. There are multiple endings, both good and bad, so you'll need to think carefully with each choice. The game's atmosphere is pretty difficult to describe, it's somewhat lonely, ominous, otherworldly and eerie, but like, in a good way, it's really complicated but I genuinely just love it. The characters are well written, of course, I'm basing this off the fact that you only really experience two of the characters for the majority of the game, but they work extremely well together and I simply love their chemistry. I really adore Yella as a character! In AsicxArt fashion, the character design is beautiful, the same can be said for the CGs, comprised of both regular and chibi, they're all awesome and would make for some pretty nice backgrounds or wallpapers! There's almost 200 in total, so I'm positive you'll see something you like. There's voice acting too, and it sure is a wonderful addition like in the previous visual novels, it really adds to the experience and the game definitely wouldn't be the same without it! The music is extremely well composed. I am sad to report though, that there is no signs of the beloved Kevin MacLeod this time. And well, let's just say you can attribute my high playtime to leaving the music playing in the background, it's that catchy! My only gripe with the game is that there is no skip button, for unseen dialogue. Instead, this is replaced with a skip section button, which allows you to skip through seen dialogue and takes you immediately to either the next choice or next chapter. This is helpful when you wanna do all the paths or endings. At the end of the day, it encourages people to read instead of just skip through the game. Overall, I can't recommend this enough, AsicxArt is incredible at what they do and I will continue to support them whenever they release new visual novels. If you're a fan of any of AsicxArt's previous work, I urge you to play this, it is certainly time and money well spent! I simply cannot wait to play the sequel!

A really nice and cute VN, especially for its price. Would definitely recommend to someone who is trying to get into VNs, or anyone who is looking for a relatively short VN with multiple choices and endings to read through. What I loved - Animated Live2D sprites - Quite a handful of cute CGs - Handful of choices, branching the game into two different paths pretty early on, allowing for quite a bit of content, although, with some repeated scenes and dialogues of course - Voice acting for all but the MC - VERY Handy flow chart that helps you easily keep track of which paths you have taken Story Rating: 6/10 Art rating: 8/10 Price value: 10/10 Music: 6/10 Overall rating: 7/10
