One of the best games iv ever played im a big fan of medieval games and this has got to be my favorite imagine bannorlord and kcd and chivray all togetehr over all 10/10 game would recommend

A medieval simulation reminiscent of Mount & Blade. As of writing this review it features an overland map where you control towns and recruit troops, and battle instances where you command your troops and fight yourself. What makes "Voor De Kroon" stand out is its focus on Dutch / Frisian medieval history (i.e. Counties like Holland and Gelre, and Frisia). It makes for a refreshing change in setting. The game also gives you the tools to fully customise your own faction and even create your own campaigns, set in custom maps (Why not create England or France, or the Holy Roman Empire?). Furthermore - the developer is very responsive and open to feedback from players. A good thing during Early Access.

Played on the Steam Deck, but there's an issue where the screen resolution becomes distorted, preventing you from selecting options on the lower half of the screen. You can work around this by docking the Steam Deck to an external monitor, setting the resolution to native through Steam, and then disconnecting the monitor once the game launches. Unfortunately, this process needs to be repeated every time you start the game. By adjusting the graphics settings to medium, setting the battle size to skirmish, and disabling certain special effects like smoke, the game ran surprisingly well on the Steam Deck. While it's clunky and in need of significant polish it shows a lot of potential.

this game is actually so fun. it isnt recommended for someone who cant handle a few bugs, but if you love total war or mount and blade, this game is a MUST! The potential it has is actually insane. If you dont wanna go around throwing 30$, I promise you, wait a few updates, you would easily drop 50$.

This game is something of its own. The developer of this game is working very hard to solve problems and create a game the way it works out the best. In contact with his discord community and trying to fix every bug people post in the discord. Also allowing suggestions. Pro: - Game looks very good and has a nice optic. Especially on realistic mode without any HUD or other UI. - Possibility to create own map with settlement nodes. - Create own factions - Combat and game feels nice - Easy to get into the game, no big difficulties or confusing mechanics. Con: - No unit creation (Game based on Dutch war in the early 13th century) - Missing a few weapons - Small maps / short fights For people looking for a game with massive battles, a big amount of depth or tons of things to do and find out, I would rather say wait a bit. If you are interested into good graphics, simple battles and a game for now and then, you might enjoy this game. Overall a game with a bright future, I am curious where this will go.
